36 weeks: Bring back confinement!

On the bus last week a very friendly drunk man wished me “good luck in my confinement”. I’d never heard of the end of pregnancy referred to as such before, but after a little research (wikipedia!) and a tweet from Miss Skysmile, I learnt that many years ago, usually between weeks 36-40 of pregnancy, ladies were confined to their beds to prevent premature delivery.
