One (very surreal) month later
|The very beginning…|
Busby is one month old today, and what a month it has been! I’m not entirely sure where the month has gone; it’s been a blur of nappy changes, worrying, feeds, more worrying, cuddles, even more worrying…! I can’t believe how much she’s changed; she’s gone from being a tiny, scrunched up (in the nicest way possible) bundle of new baby, into an alert, stretched-out little person who has started noticing bold patterns, making interesting sounds, and who is mesmerised by the lion screen print on our bedroom wall. She can now hold her head up for enough time to look around, she’s starting to react to us tickling her feet, and her little personality is beginning to shine through. She’s also (finally) out of “tiny size” baby clothes and now fits into “newborn”… Who’d have thought 6lb 14oz would be considered almost prem size in some shops?! We’ve all been very surprised by this.
Parenthood is a very surreal experience; white noise playing from YouTube at 2am in an attempt to soothe your screaming baby, waking up to find an assortment of muslin squares and sensory toys next to your pillow, celebrating because your constipated baby has finally done a poo… Yes, it’s safe to say we’ve changed too! But it’s amazing. There’s nothing quite like it. And I can’t wait to watch how she changes and develops over the next few months (and beyond)!
