#S2S2D: Diva Demands

Hi Emma!

I’m so glad you’re out of hospital now; you looked amazing on BBC Points West (for anyone who missed it you can find the clip here). When I’m not on maternity leave some of my work crosses over into a Radiotherapy department, so I sort of know what you’ve been going through from a medical point of view. I hope you’re ok and not feeling too whacked.

As you have three girls, I’m sure you’re more than aware of the potential for Drama Queens and Baby Divas! Today I thought I’d introduce you to my five (and a bit) month old, Busby,  as she seems to put a smile on everyone’s faces. I must warn you; she’s a bit of a Diva!

“Ooh shiny things! They’d look fabulous on my wrist!”

Hello Readers,

Mummy has let me take over the reigns of Make, Do and Push! today to share my Diva Demands with you all. I would like to begin by thanking my fans; thank you for your wonderful gifts, and kind comments regarding how truly beautiful and fabulous I am. I know I am the most gorgeous baby girl in all of the land; everyone tells me so, but thank you for your continued adoration through the months.

Many people think that babies don’t really understand what’s going on for many weeks when we first arrive on the planet, but from Day 6 in this funny place I have had a mind of my own. Yes, I know, I’m something of a genius; I’ll be attending Cambridge University by the age of five.

Demand Number One: Movement.
I want to be constantly moving; sitting down is so tedious you see. From Day 6, whenever Daddy would sit down with me, I would become overwhelmed with boredom (almost instantaneously) and begin to cry. When you’ve been stuck inside a dark space for nine months, you want to be moving and watching lights as much as possible! Mummy would also sit down with me; that was adequate for a while as it usually meant I was about to gorge myself with some delicious milk, but I had to get the work horse moving eventually! I mean, how else would she lose that weight she put on whilst growing her perfect baby daughter inside of her? Move, Fatty, move!

Demand Number Two: Paparazzi.
Every Diva has the right to throw a Diva Strop don’t they? But here’s the secret to getting me to stop: whip out a DSLR and take my photo. As soon as I hear the sound of the shutter clicking away I cease crying, and produce a smile so charming that even the camera smiles back at me.

Demand Number Three: Sleep.
As the most beautiful baby in the world I obviously need my beauty sleep. My Mummy and Daddy are very happy that I sleep through the night most of the time, but 10-11 hours in one go is not enough! I try to make sure that I have a post-sleep nap and a pre-sleep nap to ensure I always look my best for the paparazzi, and my adoring fans.

Demand Number Four: My Throne(s).
I have a number of thrones around the house and for transport, but a lot of the time I prefer to be in the arms of either of my parents (usually Daddy looking at Mummy – this is my favourite position). However, Mummy sometimes has to do this thing called “house work” (I often wonder why she doesn’t hire a maid), and I’m placed in one of my various thrones. If I don’t want to sit in it, I play a fun game where I put my elbows out so I don’t quite fit in the seat properly!

I also have a moving throne for when we’re out and about; it’s a very regal purple. However, I don’t always want to be in the moving throne as it looks much more exciting outside of the purple roses, so I cry until Mummy or Daddy pick me up and carry me along.

Demand Number Five: Food.
Oh golly gosh, I love food! Mummy has just started feeding me some yummy, tasty fruit and veg, but I want what she’s eating! I keep smiling at her every time she puts a forkful in her mouth, but not even my cutest, gummiest smile works. Hmpf. I try stealing it off her, but that doesn’t work either… I’m sure I’ll be allowed some of what she eats one day. It better be one day soon.

Demand Number Six: Clothes.
I don’t really like wearing clothes; I’d much rather be free and naked, but boy do I look good when I do wear them! I’m the first and only grandchild, so naturally my grandparents enjoy lavishing me with luxury gifts; mostly clothes. I’ve been wearing Cath Kidston since day two on the planet, and I certainly rock vintage Laura Ashley!

So there you have it; my six demands. There are only six, which I don’t think is too much to ask when you’re as beautiful, clever, talented, stylish, charming (etc, etc) as me!

Today I’m hosting Shoulder to Shoulder to Day #S2S2D in support of Emma from Crazy with Twins. Emma is a fellow Mummy Blogger, and is currently undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer. Such a cute little diva!

My twins are mega chilled out, but my 6yr old would give Beatrice a run for her money in the diva stakes. She seems to “place an order” rather than ask for things! Lol. She once demanded to know why a waitress had put ice in her drink when she hadn’t asked for it! Lol.

I wonder where they get it from? 😉 xx

    • 29th May 2013 / 8:11 pm

Oh wow! That’s hilarious! They definitely don’t get it from us 😉

      I hope you’re feeling ok 🙂 xx

This is a lovely post, that brought a smile to my face. I love the Cath Kidston hat.

      Thanks Sarah 🙂

The hat is actually vintage Laura Ashley – it was mine as a child! 🙂 xx
