Nail Varnish vs Baby: Round 5
If you read Make, Do and Push! regularly you will know that I love painting my nails; it helps me maintain a sense of self. However, finding a nail varnish that actually stays on for more than a couple of hours with a baby is tricky! What with all of the sticky nappy tabs, overly frequent hand-washing, and general excessive hand usage. So I have been putting various nail polishes to the test to see who comes out on top: this is Nail Varnish vs Baby.
I was sent a bottle of the new Barry M “Confetti” Nail Paint to review. I love Barry M polish, so was excited to see how this looked, and how, (of course) it fared up against Motherhood!
I was very happy to have received the shade “Bubblegum”, which is this lovely blue and white varnish. I wear a lot of blue, so suited it me perfectly.
It went on very easily and smoothly, which impressed me as I usually find glitter polishes apply unevenly. However, I had to apply three coats to get the effect in the photo below; the first coat dried super quickly (2-3 minutes) but the next two took slightly longer. I would say all was dry within about 9-10 minutes.
Love the finish! Although it would probably work better as a top coat on another colour to give it the real “wow” factor.
Nail varnish vs baby?
Unfortunately, it had chipped within two days of applying. However, due to the random nature of the confetti finish, it was very easy just to paint another coat to cover the chip. Very handy!
Very pretty and funky, although chipped quickly and took a while to dry. I’m definitely going to wear this again though, and will try it over a bright colour in the future to give my nails more oomph!
The Barry M Confetti Nail Paint retails at £3.99, and is available to buy on the Barry M website.
