It has been a busy, fun-packed few days in our household this week!
I went for a wander around Lewes and indulged in a bit of charity shop shopping. I found this amazing fabric for £2 (there’s at least 2 metres worth) and this beautiful necklace, also for £2; it made me think of our future vintage wedding theme.
In theory, our new oven was supposed to arrive, but alas they tried to order us another convection oven (seriously – who still uses a convection oven??)… It’s arriving next week now, and I seriously can’t wait to get my bake on! The first recipe I’m going to try are these amazing G&T cupcakes by the lovely Laura over at Chambray and Curls! Gin AND cake? You can’t really go wrong.
Busby was weighed! My chubby little monkey is now a hefty 16lb 1oz!!! Where is my 6lb 14oz bundle?
I also attended a lovely Mummy picnic with some other mums from our postnatal group; it was glorious to sit out in the sun for a few hours and chat to adults.
We went out for a lovely lunch in the sun with my aunt.

I love it when the weather is beautiful like this, and you can sit outside.
Busby had her first swimming lesson, and loved it! She only cried once or twice in the pool, and that was because she was tired. I think we have a future mermaid on our hands.
We’ve been practising “Ready…go!” in the bath, as she’s going to be submerged under water in next week’s lesson!

A day of newborns! A friend popped round with her new baby girl and her toddler, and then Busby and I went to visit one of my oldest friends as she’s just had a baby boy.
|They grow so quick! Busby: 24 weeks. Baby E: 6 weeks.|
Newborn cuddles were wonderful, although after lugging Chunks around, holding a newborn again felt really odd and scary! I was propelled back into the days of “I’m going to break this baby, I must stay still” as they seem so fragile compared to my lovely Lump!
So here we are, finally! Yesterday we had a lovely day as a family in the sunshine, enjoying an afternoon tea in the garden. Nick and I had a BBQ when Busby went to bed, and indulged in some yummy treats.
Today we’re off to Nymans for a picnic with some friends that we haven’t seen for a while, which will be wonderful. Hopefully the weather will pick up as it’s looking a little grey!
This week has been a busy one in the virtual world too:
1. I wrote my introduction piece on the BabyExpo blog (as I’m the VIP Blogger for the Brighton event on 30th June). I also a reviewed this fabulous Loveyush London Scarf!
2. Make, Do and Push! made it onto the Sainsbury’s “Blogs we love” 2013 list. I’m very chuffed!
What have you been up to this week?
