Welcome to “What’s in your changing bag?”; my weekly Tuesday feature where I ask one Yummy Mummy (or Daddy) to share the innermost secrets of their changing bag, and the five items they couldn’t possibly live without!
This week I’m joined by the lovely L from This Mummy who I met at BritMums Live two weeks ago. I also had the pleasure of meeting her littlest!
So L, thanks for joining “What’s in your changing bag?” today! Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m L, I’m a work-from-home mum to two little girls. My toddler LB is 19 months (born in October 2011), and my little baby C has just turned 2 months (born in April 2013). I am obsessed with food, shopping and writing, and I take far too many photos! Between parenting and working I can usually be found wittering away on my blog and Twitter.
A girl after my own heart… oh, and your girls are absolutely gorgeous!!
What would you say is your favourite thing about being a Mutti?
Seeing your children grow and their little personalities develop more each day (even though my toddler is becoming quite the strong-willed little madam now!). I also love seeing my two girls together, watching the bond develop between them is amazing and something I particularly love after being an only child myself.
Beautiful! So we’ve heard your favourite thing – what would you say is the hardest thing about being a Mutti?
Being ill / knackered I think. Those days where you just NEEEEED to curl up in bed and get some rest to recover, and you have absolutely no chance of doing so as you have little people to look after!
So true! I miss being able to hide underneath my duvet for the day and feel sorry for myself. What three words would you use to describe the wonder that is Motherhood?
Instinctive. Selfless. Rewarding.
Finally, how do you preserve/maintain your sense of self?
Through my blogging! After a long day, sitting down with a cuppa to write or read other blogs makes me feel human again. I’m also partial to a spa day every once in a while but, having been breastfeeding or pregnant for most of the last 3 years, that doesn’t happen very often!
Oh a spa day… what a blissful notion.
So, it’s business time; what make is your changing bag?
It’s a BabyMoov Baby Chic – nice and big which I really need with 2 in nappies! I love it and came with some really cool little extras like a dummy and bottle pouch, a blanket, a plastic wet / mucky clothes pouch and a changing mat. My husband did moan it’s a bit girly though!
I don’t think it’s girly at all!
What are the five items in your changing bag that you just can’t live without?
1. Toddler distraction kit (snacks and a book). My saviour when I need my toddler to sit nicely and behave whilst I feed the baby, or while we are waiting for food in a restaurant!
