On Friday last week I headed to London with my Mutti to kick off my wedding dress shopping journey!

We visited three places – all in central London.
The Sales Assistant in Coast became my new BFF from the word go. They’d written all my details on a separate piece of paper when I’d called earlier in the week… unfortunately the paper had then gone missing, so her first question was: “What size are you? I’d say a 10-12?”
She then took us into the Bridal changing room and gave us a glass of Prosecco each. Once again, a winner in my books!
I tried on about six dresses, and loved two of them – although, sadly, one of them wasn’t actually white! Neither were “the one”, but they definitely came close.
After lunch we headed to Phase Eight. The Sales Assistant was rather aloof, and didn’t actually introduce herself. We were taken into the Bridal changing room and I tried on another six(ish) dresses. We weren’t offered any beverages at all (not even a glass of water), and the Assistant had a very nonchalant attitude. Perhaps she was having a bad day?
She warmed up a bit after I started talking about Brighton, but we still didn’t feel very welcome!
Again, I loved two dresses from their collection, but as with Coast, neither dress was “the one”.
After finishing in Phase Eight we had some time to kill before getting the train home, so we decided to go into Debenhams as they have a Bridal collection in some of their stores. I managed to find one dress in my size and headed to the rather grotty changing rooms with it. It was fine – nothing special – and definitely not how I envisaged finding “the one”, so we headed over to the children’s clothing section!
They had a Coast Bridal department in Debenhams too, and had a couple of different dresses, so I tried those on. Again, nothing special.
Although I didn’t find “the one” on Friday, I did find the experience very useful! I now know exactly what I want… I just have to find it!
