What’s in your changing bag? // Jenny from KyNa Boutique

Welcome to “What’s in your changing bag?”; my weekly Tuesday feature where I ask one Yummy Mummy (or Daddy) to share the innermost secrets of their changing bag, and the five items they couldn’t possibly live without!

This week I’m joined by the very lovely Jenny from KyNa Boutique – who I am seeing today! Yay!

Hi Jenny! Hilarious photo! Please can you tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi I’m Jenny, and my babies are Hugo (10 months), Nate (3 years) and Kyle (8 years). Can Kyle still be classed as a baby? Ha! He will always be my baby but would kill me if he knew I was referring to him in that way!!

Lovely!
What would you say is your favourite thing about being a Mutti?
Seeing their little faces in the morning all sleepy and tired, and then the huge smile when they see you. It melts my heart every time.

It is gorgeous.
What would you say is the hardest thing?
Hmmm… I would normally say the lack of sleep but I think with 3 children I’ve become used to not sleeping. At the moment I would have to say the hardest thing is potty training whilst looking after the baby. There have been so many times when Hugo has fallen asleep on me just as Nate needs the loo – arghhhhhh!

Oh gosh – I can imagine that is very frustrating!
What three words would you use to describe Motherhood?
Crazy! Magical.. Whirlwind!

Great choice of words!
How do you preserve/maintain your sense of self?
I try to find “me” time, which isn’t always that easy. But I think its very important to have at least 30 mins a day when you can switch off from being “mum”.

I totally agree.
So the last question, before we find out what’s in your changing bag; if you could share one piece of Motherhoodly wisdom with us all what would it be?
EVERYONE will try and give you advice, but remember you know your baby better than anyone else so do what feels right for you!

Very true – great advice Jenny – thanks!
It’s business time: what make is your changing bag?
I don’t really have a “proper” changing bag, I kind of got over the whole bag thing after having Kyle. I wanted my bag to reflect me and my style, and not be mumsy. So my bag is a Tote from Dune.

I love the colour!
What are the five items in your changing bag that you just can’t live without?

1. Ruby and Ginger nappy purse. This fits in enough nappies and wipes for a trip out and about and it perfect to keep everything together in my bag.

2. Slugs and Snails tights. These are for my 3 year old. He has recently been potty trained and I have found that a couple of pairs of slugs take up no room at all and are not heavy to carry round for those “just in case” moments.
3. Spoon. I don’t know about you but I find H likes hold something when eating, so I always have a spoon to hand that is baby friendly for him to play with
4. Hand Gel. I’m a bit of a clean freak and ALWAYS have one of these with me – you just don’t know with germs do you!
5. Business cards. These go everywhere with me as you never know when an opportunity might arise!

Thanks for sharing the contents of your changing bag with us, Jenny. I love the Ruby and Ginger nappy purse – I recently made myself one!

I knew that Jenny would have a cool bag. I tried potty training CK a few months ago but he always needed to go just as I was putting the baby to sleep or feeding him. It was a nightmare. A couple of recent operations means we’re back to the beginning and just about to start again. Urgh!
