What's in your Changing Bag?

What’s in your changing bag? // Katie from Hurrah for Gin

Welcome to “What’s in your changing bag?”; my weekly Tuesday feature where I ask one Yummy Mummy (or Daddy) to share the innermost secrets of their changing bag, and the five items they couldn’t possibly live without!

This week I’m joined by the very lovely fellow Sussex Mama, Katie.

Hi Katie – please can you tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi! I’m Katie; Mum to Little F (Aug, 10) and Baby S (Feb, 13). I’m a Brighton based digital strategist. I like cheese and brushing my teeth.

Hurrah for cheese!
What would you say is your favourite thing about being a Mutti?
Seeing the sheer joy on my boys faces when I arrive back home; when they are little you really are their whole world.

Lovely!
What would you say is the hardest thing?
That there is no time off!

That’s very true…
What three words would you use to describe Motherhood?
Noisy, challenging and very funny.

Extremely! Good choice of words.
How do you preserve/maintain your sense of self?
I struggle to be honest, but I have just started an art class to give me something else to focus my mind on outside of the boys.

Oh how lovely!
So the last question, before we find out about your changing bag; if you could share one piece of Motherhoodly wisdom with us all what would it be?
Stay away from the baby books – babies are all different and trying to make them confirm to what they ‘should’ be doing will drive you mad!

Great advice Katie – thanks!
It’s business time: what make is your changing bag?

Changing bag is a Mothercare messenger bag in grey denim.

Ooh I love it!
What are the five items in your changing bag that you just can’t live without?

1. Hats and gloves for the boys. Essential now the weather has turned but also oh so cute!
2. Snacks. For avoiding meltdowns or as a means of bribery.
3. Cars. Wherever we go cars come too.
4. Bubbles. Pocket sized bubbles from a wedding, perfect for amusing a bored toddler or baby waiting for a bus/train.
5. Trashy magazine. A vice of mine although I will struggle to find the time to read it!

Thanks for sharing the contents of your changing bag with us, Katie. I love the idea of carrying around bubbles.

Hi Hannah – I’ve just found your blog through clicking on the #pbloggers link on Twitter and spotted a mention of Katie from Hurrah for Gin who I’ve just started following. I love the idea of a “What’s in your Changing Bag” feature – inspired! Mine is a PacaPod Napier in duck egg blue – I love it! I started off with one of those free Boots ones you got from joining their parenting club but its so much nicer to have a luxury version!
