Why I’ll be buying my Christmas presents from The Body Shop

At the beginning of November, the lovely people at The Body Shop held a special Christmas party for some of us lucky Bloggers.

The theme was School Disco, so I went as a Dinner Lady (hairnet and all). It was a great night with prosecco on tap and hilarious 90s music from my school days. In between cramming sugar into our mouths from the tuck shop and dancing, we attended “lessons”. One lesson in particular really touched me… and no, it wasn’t the gingerbread decorating lesson in the photo below!

The Body Shop are doing so much amazing work around the globe; helping communities who would normally be ignored or exploited. We all know that The Body Shop does this, but does the message ever truly sink in when you read their packaging or in-store advertisements? You may think “how wonderful of them” but then life gets in the way again. So I wanted to share with you the amazing work that they’re doing for Christmas this year.

This year The Body Shop are giving even more back to the communities that they trade with:
“We wanted to make sure we were giving something that was truly meaningful and life changing, so that’s why we are giving £200,000 from our gift sales to build five new schools in Community Fair Trade areas around the world.

They say that the greatest gift of all is education and we couldn’t agree more. Give Joy To Every Body is our motto, and when you buy any one of our gorgeous gifts you will be helping to give children in India, Nepal, Honduras and Ghana better access to an education for a brighter, happier future.”

This was an inspiring lesson; all of us left the space feeling humbled and amazed by the truly wonderful work The Body Shop are doing within their trading communities.
I’ve already bought half of my Christmas presents from The Body Shop. I can’t share as they’re a surprise, but their Christmas ranges are delicious with my favourite being the yummy Ginger Sparkle!
Head in-store or online to explore, buy and contribute to something worthwhile and amazing while you’re doing your Christmas shopping! Ultimate multi-tasking!
