Review: The Body Shop Tea Tree Range
When a surprise package arrived on my doorstep last week I was very relieved to learn of its contents; some of the wonderful tea tree range from The Body Shop! It’s like the lovely folk in The Body Shop PR Office knew what hormonal traumas my skin was going through (thank you guys!)…
We’re entering the realms of Too Much Information (TMI), but since having Busby my periods have been worse than they ever were previous to falling pregnant. My PMT is unbearable, but the thing I hate most is the spots and blemishes that appear – mostly on my back (sexy). So, as you can imagine, I was keen to try these glorious products out!
The Body Shop source their Community Fair Trade tea tree oil from a cooperative in Kenya where the farmers hand harvest the tea tree in January and February. They only take the leaf from the plant and slowly steam to release its most pure, anti-microbial oil. This goes directly into The Body Shop products – there is no processing or change.
I was sent five items from the range; the tea tree pore minimiser, face wash, skin clearing lotion, matte skin primer and tea tree oil.
1. Tea Tree Cool and Creamy Face Wash – £5
This is such a fabulous product! My skin has a tendency to feel heavy and greasy by the end of the day – especially on hormonal days, so this face wash is fantastic for freshening up my skin and soothing any blemishes.
2. Tea Tree Pore Minimiser – £7.50
I’ve never used a pore minimiser before, but I was intrigued to try this as the pores around my nose tend to increase in size around “that time of the month”. It definitely does a fantastic job of blurring my larger pores and makes my skin feel cleaner.
3. Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion – £8
I love this product! It cleared up some of those pesky hormonal spots on my face, and left my skin feeling fresh and more hydrated.
4. Tea Tree Oil – £7
Returning to the sexy hormonal back spots… After one application of the oil onto the affected area my skin felt, and looked, much clearer. It also helped to soothe the more painful spots.
5. Skin Primer Matte It – £12
Regular readers will know that I don’t tend to wear a huge amount of make-up, so hadn’t ever tried a primer previous to this one… but it’s fantastic! It mattifies my skin perfectly if I’m having a particularly oily day (I’m really painted an attractive picture of myself when I’m hormonal aren’t I?) and keeps my foundation in place.
Overall, I’ve been very impressed with the Tea Tree range from The Body Shop, and would definitely recommend to anyone suffering from hormonal outbreaks and blemishes! All Tea Tree products are available to buy on The Body Shop website.
