Review: The Body Shop are Nuts for Coconuts!

Last week I was lucky enough to receive another surprise package from The Body Shop! Hoorah! (These packages are really cheering me up – thank you!) It was full of lots of gorgeous products, most of which contain coconut oil.

Why coconut oil?

The oil of a coconut is high in essential fatty acids. and has been used by women for many years to protect and clean their hair and skin. The Body Shop source their coconut oil from Samoa. It is made by hand from pressing dried coconut flesh, and is all organic.

1. Coconut Body Butter – £13
I love The Body Shop’s body butter and this has quickly overtaken Ginger Sparkle as my favourite! The scent is gorgeous; nutty and fruity, and the butter itself is wonderfully creamy and glides onto your skin leaving it feeling indulged and ever-so soft. Yum!

2. Rainforest Moisture Conditioner – £4.50
I’m rather fussy about what I put in my hair as it’s prone to freaking out over change, so I was rather dubious about using this conditioner. I needn’t have been worried; it’s amazing! It leaves my hair feeling so soft and rehydrated. And the best thing? My hair smells of honey and coconut!

3. Colour Crush™ Eye Shadow – £7 each (Fig Leaf, Oh Honey and Blue Over You)
I don’t wear eye shadow very often, but I was intrigued by the three colours I was sent from the Colour Crush™ range. The “Oh Honey” shade is beautiful and neutral, and very easy to wear every day. The other two shades “Fig Leaf” and “Blue Over You” are very colourful, and would be fab on a night out. (The blue is very ’80s!)

4. Lip Gloss in Lychee – £7
Fruity and gorgeous! This lip gloss leaves your lips looking shiny and very kissable…!

5. Nutriganics™ Soothing Day Cream – £13
My skin is super dry at the moment so I was looking forward to trying the day cream out. The cream has a very thick, rich consistency and I’ve got to admit that I found it a bit too heavy for day time use. However, I have been using it at night, and my skin has felt wonderful and looks more radiant the next morning.

Overall, I’m in love with coconut oil! This package has left me feeling indulged and thoroughly pampered.

All the products above can be found on The Body Shop website.

I can’t imagine your skin looking more radiant!! I love coconut oil – I use the cooking stuff in my hair once a week as a conditioner but it doesn’t smell so nice as a moisturisers, so I recon I should try the moisturiser for sure! thanks love xx

That sounds like a lovely surprise parcel! I’m not ordinarily a fan of coconut products but I received a Body Shop gift set at Christmas and was pleasantly surprised by the fragrance and how effective they were. I’m converted! Love the eyeshadow colours too.

I’ve not used Body Shop products since my teens – and am infact not a fan of coconut at all – but I’m kinda tempted to investigate now!
