Busby, Busby Updates

Busby: 16 months

This month has definitely been one of my favourites so far! The months of constant snot seem to be behind us (ish) *touch wood*, and there have been no Busby-related dramas to write about. Phew!

Busby has really come into her own this month. We’ve watched her grow before our eyes; both in height and intelligence. She’s an excellent problem solver, as well as being remarkably creative. She loves music and loves to dance; both in our arms and by herself.

Her imagination play has improved again this month, and she can frequently be found pouring Flopsy Bunny tea and offering Edward Bear a cake, whilst chatting to them both and making them chat to each other.

Reading is definitely one of her favourite activities, and often shuns her toys for We’re going on a bear hunt, which she’ll happily look through with or without us being there!

Now Busby is walking, we are walking everywhere. She is currently obsessed with the circular drain covers on one of our walks, and will stop and inspect each cover (there about seven)…!

She demands a foot rub after her bath, and sticks her feet in Nick’s face until he obliges!

This month she has learnt how to say “home”, “bear” and “duck”, and best of all she has started to sing! We definitely think she’s going to take after me as a creative, rather than a scientist like Nick. Or perhaps she’ll be a Renaissance child?

Busby is a truly gorgeous toddler, and I am in awe of the amazing little person she has become.

I didn’t realise our children were the same age – my two just turned 16 months old too. We’re not quite walking everywhere because Master J is too lazy and it’s too difficult to keep them both going in the same direction!

How beautiful! My niece is just coming up for 16 months too and I really recognise the similarities between them. It’s amazing how much more grown up and clever my niece seems in the last few weeks. It’s lovely to watch.

It’s a lovely age isn’t it, they learn so much from day to day. Sam often likes to bust some moves too and what is so fascinating about those drain covers? 🙂 x

We’re just a few weeks ahead of you, with C celebrating her 17 months recently, and I love this age so much, although we’re far behind you in terms of speech as C can just say a couple of things that don’t make any sense, but that’s just the fun of a baby in a bilingual family.

Love your updates. Imaginative play sounds fun, we are yet to experience this. The feet thing made me laugh we always have to rub Ethan’s feet and he does the same thing, just shoves them in your face until we do as we are told! Sounds like you have had a fantastic month together.
