When the very lovely Jenny from KyNa Boutique asked whether we’d be interested in reviewing an item from the Spring/Summer 2014 Indikidual range, I was very excited. We’re big KyNa fans in this household, especially Indikidual (we have the fabulous banana coat from the Winter collection), so I couldn’t wait to choose something for Busby.
Firstly, a little about KyNa Boutique and the ethos behind the company. Jenny featured on Make, Do and Push!’s Inspiration Week back in February, and this is what she had to say about creating KyNa Boutique:
All my children have eczema and I had found that organic cotton helped, but wasn’t readily available on the high street, so I thought why not. It started with all the brands I love and had been dressing my boys in; I wanted to share what I had found and give myself something to focus on, to still be me and use my mind for something other than being a mum, while still being a mum.
My boys have been my inspiration, if they had never had eczema I would have never come across the idea. It’s not just about selling awesome clothes; it’s about helping people, using my experience with eczema to make it that bit easier on another child, building relationships and friendships.
Such an amazing reason to start a company!
We chose the beautiful “Cuba” Maracca jumpsuit from the Indikidual range to review, as it was the ideal choice for our music-loving Busby!
I fell even more in love with the jumpsuit when it arrived. The colour varies a little from KyNa’s website and is more green than I thought it would be, but it’s absolutely stunning. The maracca print is so much fun; I wish they made them in adult sizes!
The organic cotton is super soft and lovely to touch.
We were sent the 18-24 month size as Busby is rather chubby! It’s still a bit long on the legs, but almost perfect around the waist. The legs can be easily rolled up and I think they actually look pretty cool like this. The jumpsuit is fastened with three buttons on the front.
I love how versatile the jumpsuit will be over the coming months. At the moment Busby is wearing it with a long-sleeved body or t-shirt underneath, as it’s still a bit cool for short-sleeves or no sleeves, but I can see it being the perfect outfit on warmer summer days, as the organic cotton is so gentle on her skin and it’s incredibly “breathable”.
The only addition I would make to the jumpsuit would be to add poppers in the trousers for easy nappy changing, as it has been a little tricky getting Busby in and out when in “wriggly-mode”. However, this certainly hasn’t stopped me dressing Busby in it, and wouldn’t put me off recommending it!
The Indikidual “Cuba” maracca jumpsuit costs £32 (with free delivery!) and is available to buy on the KyNa Boutique website.
