The Week That Was: Captured #49

Why hello there! Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured!

Have you all had a glorious week?

The rules are simple; link up one post about your week! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts.

Last week…
I loved the sound of Laura’s (Chambray & Curls) milkmaid braids! If I had hair long enough I’d ask her to teach me how to do them. Lori (Lori and the Caravan) has been hatching a plan – I loved reading about her week; from restoring her caravan to her gorgeous little man. I loved seeing Julia’s (Tea, Cake and My Boy) lovely boy rolling down the hill – it took me back!

Our week…
Nick has worked a 6 day week this week which has been both tough and lovely! Busby and I have had some serious bonding time together, and I’m feeling a lot happier now we seem to have reconnected… I had been getting (irrationally) worried that we had drifted apart.

We had a dreadful night with Busby so Sunday was a bit of an exhausted write-off! We did go out for lunch though, just to force us out of the house more than anything…

On Monday Busby and I had a slow day; we wandered into Lewes to the Post Office to drop off some orders and then I sat in The Paddock with a cappuccino and a chocolate biscuit whilst she napped in the pram.

I worked on Tuesday but it was one of those days where I felt a bit useless as I was so tired. However, something rather amazing happened in the evening – Kirstie Allsopp (the real deal) retweeted my post about how I agree with her, and it stayed on the top of her timeline all night until she tweeted again in the morning!! Wowza!

Wednesday felt quite slow as I was still on a bit of a high after the whole Kirstie thing! I had a lovely (well-needed) evening out with a friend drinking prosecco and toasting our new businesses.

On Thursday Busby and I headed to Haywards Heath for a picnic in the park with a friend and her toddler. We hadn’t caught up in months so it was wonderful to sit and munch food whilst our children tired themselves out. Nick was on a late, so I was on bedtime routine, which went surprisingly well!

We had our Monkey Music class on Friday which is always great fun and then, as the sun was shining, Busby and I went for another (impromptu) picnic with a friend and her daughter from our class. Nick and I wrote all of our wedding invitations on Friday night… eeek!!!

Nick was working on Saturday so Busby and I enjoyed a spot of painting after breakfast whilst it poured down outside. We then went for a walk into Lewes when the sun finally came out (mostly because Busby needed a nap!) I spent the rest of the afternoon/evening updating my shop and writing this!

1. Balancing on a ball (Monday) // 2. Nap time refreshments (Monday) // 3. Kirstie Allsopp’s timeline!! (Tuesday) // 4. Diva: she demanded to wear my wedding shoes… (Wednesday) // 5. Mummy selfie on the way to prosecco (Wednesday) // 6. Friends in the park (Friday) // 7. The beautiful rose in our garden (Friday) // 8. My new changing bag from BabyMule (Friday) // 9. Writing our wedding invites! (Friday)

Sorry the sleep is a bit lacking but the whole thing with Kirsty Allsop was pretty cool, I must admit I liked your blog post, I think you said it more tactfully that she did! 🙂

And, I think I have spelled her name wrong, oops. Blame it on also being sleep deprived, I am with you, Matthew has decided sleep is not for parents, this last week, too! Yawn!
