The Week That Was: Captured #57
Howdy! How are you? Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured!
Have you all had a lovely week?
The rules are simple; link up one post about your week! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!
Rather obviously I loved Chelle’s (Unique and Chic) post last week; she gave birth to a very beautiful little boy and I can’t wait for squishy cuddles with him! Mrs Crafty B had a lovely happy week, which was joyful to read – I especially enjoyed all of her spotty crafty goods! Helen (The Princess and The Pickle) shared some stunning photos last week – I urge you to go and have a look as they are truly wonderful!
Do you ever have those weeks that you anticipate to be really awesome, but they don’t just quite deliver? That’s how I feel about this week. I’ve had a really fun, fantastic week, but there’s always been something nagging my mind in the background, stopping me from enjoying it fully. I think I’m feeling a bit burnt out – what with the wedding planning, keeping up the blog, running The Little Geekery Company, attempting to keep the house in some form of fit state and being a Mama. Busby isn’t sleeping fantastically and I’m worrying a lot. But enough with the short blogging as therapy paragraph. Here’s our week:
We all (Nick’s parents, Mutti, Nick, Busby and I ) piled into church to hear our banns be read at the morning service on Sunday – which also (coincidentally) saw the two month countdown until the Big Day begin! We had tea and pastries at Mutti’s house afterwards, and then headed back to Lewes for a picnic in Baxter’s Field, which was lovely.
Our Monday plans were rained off sadly, so Busby and I had a day at home, chilling on the sofa and drawing. We went for a short walk in the afternoon when the sun came out. I launched our Little Geekery summer sale in the evening.
I headed up to London on Tuesday to attend Kettner’s Christmas in July event, and to find Mutti something to wear to our wedding. We had a lovely champagne-fuelled morning, and finally found her an outfit after walking around London for hours!
Wednesday was quite a “bitty” day – Nick was working a late, so we headed into Lewes in the morning to sort out some wedmin, and then Busby and I chilled out at home once he’d headed to work. Mutti had Busby for a couple of hours in the afternoon so I could get some work done. Nick didn’t get home from work until almost 11pm, but it did mean that I could concentrate on the blog and get some scheduling done.
Busby and I had a fun-packed day on Thursday! My friend Laura came over with Mr E who is a few months younger than Busby; we caught up over cake (always the best way to catch up with friends), and Busby and Mr E wreaked havoc over the house. Busby and I met up with another friend and her daughter (Busby’s co-conspirator) “H” for a swim in the afternoon. The pool was completely empty and was so warm that it felt like we were swimming in the bath. Bliss!
Friday was another fantastic day! We headed to Hickstead with “H” and her Mama for a happy horsey day – you can read about that here.
Busby gave us a lie-in until almost 9am on Saturday! Nick and I managed to share a cup of tea in bed together before we were joined by an insane toddler. We then had a lovely lazy morning singing The Wheels on the Bus in bed and had breakfast together. I wanted to see whether our local craft shop had any bits that we could use for the wedding, so we wandered into Lewes, visited the craft shop and then picked up some picnic goodies and headed to The Paddock for a play. A truly lovely family day!
What have you been up to this week?
