Make, Do and List // Week Six
I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog this week as we’ve been in Yorkshire visiting Nick’s parents – it’s been wonderful switching off technology and enjoying time outside. But here we are again!
This week I have been:
I’ve read a couple of books this week. After failing to take my Kindle on the Hen Do, I’ve made up for it by reading up here in Yorkshire. I’ve read the post-apocalyptic novella Crash by Michael Robertson, which was very readable but rather too violent for my tastes, and then Before We Met by Lucie Whitehouse…
I really enjoyed this thriller, although had guessed the twist about a quarter of the way through! I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for something un-taxing to read – plus it’s only £1.50 in the Kindle store at the moment.
Pimms! On my Hen Weekend and then now (in fact while I type this) in Yorkshire. Bliss.
This week I celebrated my impending marriage to Nick by heading into deepest, darkest Sussex with some of my best friends for my Hen Do. You can read more about my Hen Weekend here.
We also have something else to celebrate. A big change. I have to be a bit cryptic at the moment, but I shall be announcing soon enough. (Before you all private message me – I’m not pregnant. Hence the Pimms.)
I’ve been continuing the wedding crafting this week by making a pompom garland for the stage at our wedding venue. I spent a wonderful morning crafting outside in the sunshine yesterday morning with a cup of tea and a croissant.
I explored the East Yorkshire village of Cottingham on Wednesday and their many charity shops. Whilst rummaging through the rails I discovered an amazing tweed jacket in my size for a mere £4! I’ve been looking for one of these for a while now, but they’ve all been £50+ in the shops, so I was rather pleased with my find. I need to take the fairly epic shoulder pads out, but it’s going to be a great addition to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe.
