On the Eve of Our Wedding
So here we are.
After two years, one month and two days of engagement, the Big Day has arrived.
It’s almost 11.30pm as I write this. The Hall looks beautiful. More than I could have wished for. Better than any of my Pinterest boards could have predicted. I almost cried at how wonderful it looks. My amazing team of helpers did the most fantastic job helping make my vision a reality. Thank you to you all!
I’m sat on Mutti’s incredibly slow laptop, with Tinkerbell the cat gently purring next to me, contemplating tomorrow.
I can’t wait.
I can’t wait to marry my soulmate.
I can’t wait to stand up in Church on the “blue cheese”, as the Vicar called it, and declare my love for the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. The Father of our beautiful child. My One.
I can’t wait to walk back down the aisle, hand-in-hand with him, to stand outside the Church and say “hullo!” to everyone. To see people we haven’t seen for months, even years, in some cases, because life just gets in the way.
I can’t wait to sneak off with my new husband and our photographer, and have our couple shots. To spend some time with him. To relish in our newly vowed marriage.
I can’t wait for the welcome drinks. For the amazing Wedding Breakfast. For everyone else to see the Hall.
I can’t wait for the speeches. For the laughter. For the inevitable groans at the bad jokes.
I can’t wait for the first dance. For the second dance… and for the third! (And most of the evening on the dance floor!)
And finally, I can’t wait to disappear off with my new Husband. To head to the beautiful hotel. To sleep for a night, uninterrupted.
The next 24 hours are going to be emotional, amazing, and fingers crossed, one of the best days of our lives.
See you on the other side!
