The Week That Was: Captured #62
Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured! Have you all had a fabulous week?
The rules are simple; link up one post about your week! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!
Thank you so much to the very lovely Aby of You Baby Me Mummy is hosting The Week That Was: Captured! last week for me! She did a wonderful job! I was otherwise engaged on my Hen Weekend, which was great fun (but boy, have my legs been killing me this week post-horse riding?!) We’ve been in Yorkshire all week, so unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to catch up with everyone else’s week, but I can’t wait to catch up once we’re back home. It’s all been a bit busy – I’m not sure whether you can tell…??
Gosh! What a week! When I first starting writing this on Friday evening I don’t think I had quite realised (or comprehended) how big a week it had been!
So the week begins on Saturday – I’ve written about my Hen Weekend in full here, so I shall just summarise the weekend. I woke up (surprisingly) hangover-free for an early morning hack in the woods… the hangover kicked in just after dismounting – I was pleased to discover we had a lot of food to munch on for lunch! A few more friends arrived at the gorgeous converted byre for a game of croquet and Pimms… we continued drinking and playing games until around 1.30am.
I was allowed a lie-in on Sunday (in my dreamy double bed – such luxury!) and then we headed to Alfriston for a cream tea. After saying goodbye to everyone (“See you at the wedding!” EEK!) I arrived home to find a very happy Busby and a rather exhausted Nick. He had survived a weekend of solo parenting! Hurrah!
Busby and I had a slow get-up on Monday, and then headed into Brighton after lunch to return a few things. I also needed to find Busby some Autumn/Winter clothes as she had somehow grown out of all of her t-shirts and long-sleeved pyjamas over-night! I was also reunited with my engagement ring after over three weeks and a number of angry emails and phonecalls.
Busby had Nursery on Tuesday morning while Nick and I packed up the car. We started the journey up to Yorkshire just before lunch – we had a good run and arrived in time for pre-dinner drinks.
Nick and I headed over to East Yorkshire just before lunch on Wednesday. I spent the afternoon exploring the village of Cottingham and its many charity shops. I also managed to spend an hour in Costa, reading and drinking chai tea lattes. We received some exciting, life changing news in the afternoon… and the day ended with bubbles, burgers and Bake Off!
We all had a lazy day on Thursday with crafting in the garden (me) and general exploration (Busby)! Nick and I managed a Busby-free coffee in Wakefield.
We set off fairly early on Friday to explore more of East Yorkshire and the various villages. We stopped off for a yummy burger at lunch time, and then enjoyed Pimms in the very sunny garden when we got back to Nick’s parents house. Busby had lots of fun running around the garden starkers!
We trekked home on Saturday, and then headed out to Pizza Express for dinner.
