I can’t quite believe that we’re at 22 months already! In two months time Busby is going to be two… Two! Two?! How has it been almost two years since she arrived in the world with a thump on the bed? Time goes super quickly when you have a toddler!
Busby was wonderfully well-behaved on our wedding day; something I was rather surprised about following the disastrous rehearsal where she wanted to be in Nick’s arms for the whole ceremony… She even held Zoë’s (my Bridesmaid) hand AND her own mini-bouquet to walk down the aisle!
However, the Terrible Twos are certainly not far away at all, with every other word seeming to be “no” at the moment. She definitely knows her own mind, and isn’t afraid to let us know when something isn’t how she’d like it to be.
Busby has shot up in height over the past month; she has been known to grow 1cm overnight, which seems so crazy. She loves measuring herself on her wall chart in her bedroom (followed by attempting to measure Mummy and Daddy!) after her bath… Another activity she loves to partake in post-bath is running around the house absolutely starkers, giggling away, evading the nappy! Nappies are definitely not a favourite garment at the moment, and potty training may well be on the cards soon *runs away in horror at the thought*.
Her obsession with vehicles is developing rapidly! One of her favourite toys is her garage; she likes to collect all her vehicles together on the garage and send them down the slide or up in the lift. Her vehicle vocabulary is coming on leaps and bounds too – with “aeroplane” being added this month. She’s remarkably good with her colours too, and I have experienced lots of excited: “Mummy! Red car!”, “Mummy! Green van!”, “Mummy! Big, blue lorry!” while we’re out on our walks.
Busby’s favourite books this month have been: Miffy at the Gallery, Miffy is Crying, Elmer’s New Friend (which she rather amusingly calls “Elmer Wu tang”), Elmer the Elephant, and the many different Peter Rabbit books she owns.
She loves singing and dancing, and Nursery regularly reports home that she has spent the day dancing with her friends. She’s very quick to pick up tunes, and will have a go at a song even if she doesn’t know the words.
She’s such a happy little soul – she makes everyone around her smile and I’m so very, very proud of her.
