The Big Day // Part One (The Wedding Morning)

Well, here it is! One in a series of posts I know quite a few of you have been waiting for – our wedding day… well, ok not quite the whole wedding day – this is the wedding morning!

It’s taken me ages to get these posts up on the blog for a number of reasons 1) I wasn’t quite ready to admit that it’s all over (I’m still having wedding planning nightmares!) and 2) I’ve spent ages writing, deleting, editing many similar posts about the day, but none of them seemed to do it justice. I thought about writing a few different posts about various aspects (the dress, the suppliers etc), but then a thought struck me whilst in the bath earlier (the best place for blogging inspiration) – why don’t I just publish the photos? They capture the day like no amount of words can.

This is only part one, as there are so many photos I want to share.

The morning of our wedding began with smoked salmon and champagne, which is always a good way to start the day! I was so thankful for my amazing Bridesmaids, my hair and beauty stylist (Nicky of Pretty Pout) and wonderful Emma, for keeping me calm(ish) during that morning and the stresses it presented. Nick is usually my calm rock in stressful situations, and I was desperately missing his presence! Nonetheless, time flew by… and I couldn’t wait to get to the church to see the man I was about to marry!

So here we go…

My shoes and bouquet (I think Emma was a little bit obsessed with my shoes – there are a lot of photos of them!)

Looking very nervous with Nicky popping my veil in. Mutti wore the same veil on her Wedding Day.

Super nervous hands!

All of the photographs above were taken by the amazing Emma Gutteridge of Emma Lucy Photography, who retains all copyright on them – so please don’t pinch them (and if you want to pin them, please pop her name in the pin description so everyone knows who took these ridiculously wonderful photos).

Stay tuned for Part Two – The Ceremony!

Beautiful! We’ve just booked our photographer and I am so excited! I love that you had your mutti’s veil- did you know it is good luck for a veil to be reused? Apparently the more brides that wear it, the better the luck – so you’d better save it for Busby! Can’t wait to see the rest Hannah

Thanks Sophie. No – this one is actually from Coast… and it’s not a wedding dress – it’s supposed to be a ballgown, but I fell head over heels for it! xx
