The lovely folk at Tiffany Rose very kindly asked me to choose a maternity dress from their wonderful online collection to wear for Christmas. After agonising over a number of gorgeous dresses, I decided to opt for the beautiful Lara Dress in Midnight Garden, as I thought it would be ideal for Christmas Day.
I have hardly any photos from my pregnancy with Busby, as I was so convinced I looked like a beached whale for most of the pregnancy. In hindsight I really regret this, and I intend to take many more in this pregnancy. I’m much more at ease with my body and the changes it will endure this time round, and pregnancy should be celebrated – no matter what shape or size you are.
The Lara Dress has been worn by a number of famous pregnant ladies, including the beautiful Holly Willoughby, and I can see why it’s a hit. The cut of the dress is very feminine and flattering; Nick loves me in it! The dress is made from premium jersey, so will stretch with me as I continue to grow. (I have a feeling Peppercorn might be a big baby, as I’m only 14 weeks pregnant in these photos!) It is also lined, which means that it fits beautifully without clinging to my maternity tights.
The print is really beautiful too, and would be perfect for any upcoming smart occasions.
The only issue that I can see with the dress as I continue to grow is the v-neckline. We all know that our breasts increase in size somewhat during the course of pregnancy, and I am rather conscious of the fact that my maternity bra has started to peek out a little already when I’m not concentrating. This can easily be solved by a camisole top underneath, but something to be aware of if you are a lady with an already ample bosom; forewarned is forearmed after all, and it’s not an issue that would stop me from buying the dress.
Busby decided that she wanted to get in on the photoshoot, hence the photo above, but she has let me demonstrate beautifully how easy the dress is to move in. It’s not restrictive at all, which is always good when you have another little person to deal with as well as a bump!
The Tiffany Rose Lara Dress in Midnight Garden costs £119 and is available to buy on the Tiffany Rose website. I can’t wait to keep wearing this gorgeous dress throughout the rest of my pregnancy, and beyond – as it will be ideal for nursing too!
