We’re really enjoying living somewhere with a workable kitchen (the kitchen in the house we rented in Sussex was not the best… to put it politely!) and have been having lots of fun cooking and baking away! I was very excited to receive a copy of Noodle Kids by Jonathon Sawyer to review, as Busby has recently taken a real shine to all things spaghetti, so thought this might have some fresh, new ideas for us to explore.
The book is split into nine chapters:
1. Noodling Around with Noodle Kids
2. Know Your Noodles
3. Stuffed (recipes for filled noodles)
5. Gnocchi Time
6. Saucy (recipes for noodles with sauce)
7. Slurps (recipes for soup-based noodles)
8. Gluten-free Friends
9. You Can Do That with Noodles? (alternative noodle recipes)
Chapters 3-9 are filled to the brim with delicious recipes, and are full of wonderful ideas for baking with and for your family.
I consider pasta to be one of my life-sources, so I was happy to see lots of pasta-based dishes – and a whole chapter on gnocchi!
The recipes are beautifully laid out, accompanied by mouthwatering images that are guaranteed to help inspire you to create something tasty for dinner! The book is rather American though, and contains a number of Americanisms, which aren’t always the easiest thing to translate. The book does convert cups into grams for you, however, which makes life a bit easier than having to use an online converter!
I can’t wait to continue experimenting and exploring with Noodle Kids – all the recipes look delicious and this book would make a wonderful gift for a pasta enthusiast!
