Busby is getting more and more excited about becoming a big sister! Nine months must feel like a lifetime for her, and we’ve frequently been asked over the past few weeks when Baby will be here. She’s been drawing lots for him, and has been very excited about the prospect of sharing her toys with him – especially her garage – she can’t wait to show him her cars. We have explained that it will be a little while before he can join in, but she seems unperturbed by this!
She’s also been getting very excited about our new house and keeps asking us when we’re “going home”. I’m very much looking forward to getting her settled in Nursery again, and starting some classes with her before the baby arrives. We’ll also be looking into toddler football sessions for the weekend, so Nick and Busby can do something together just the two of them; she’s got a rather powerful kick on her and can already dribble better than me!
Her favourite books this month have been from her Paddington Bear collection – with frequent repetition. She’s also continued to enjoy the new baby themed books we’ve been reading, and it’s become part of her bedtime routine to read one (or two) with me while she gets dry post-bath.
Busby has gobbled up strawberries and mango with gusto this month, but still isn’t massively keen on red meat. Smoked salmon is also a big hit with her – and one of her favourite dinners is now smoked salmon, pasta, peas and cheese. It’s very tasty!
Playdoh has been a favourite activity this month, as has drawing. She loves playing outside, especially in bare feet! She’s also fascinated by the sky – and one of the cutest moments from this month was her saying hello and goodnight to the planet Venus!
