Pregnancy // Weekly Positive Inspiration for a Positive Birth #2

positive inspiration for childbirth
This week I’ve been focussing on what would help me relax during labour. I never created a playlist for Busby’s birth as wasn’t sure whether it would be allowed in hospital, and foolishly never thought to ask. Music is such a huge part of my life, and it’s one thing that really helps me relax. I’ve been thinking about the atmosphere I want to create during my next labour, and which songs I’d love to be playing when I meet our next bundle.

I love this song, Sea Creatures from Soak – I think it’s super relaxing and the sounds of the sea would help me concentrate on my contractions.

I’m a bit obsessed with Hold My Hand by Jess Glynne at the moment; it would be an excellent motivation song for a pre-labour jiggle!

Sky Full of Stars by ColdPlay is one of my favourite songs in recent years, and I think it would be an amazing song to welcome Peppercorn into the world with. Although it wasn’t actually played at our wedding (the DJ didn’t have it – sob!) I associate it with our Big Day, and all the love that was felt on that day between each other, and from our family and friends. It’s such a feel good song!

What was on your birthing playlist?

I had a birthing playlist but cannot remember for the life of me what was on it! I think there was quite a lot as I was prepared for a long labour, thankfully I didn’t even have time to put it on. Xx

Lovely tunes. I never made a playlist, I kept meaning to but then somebody decided to make an appearance before I had the chance. However, when I was labouring at home, I soaked in the bath listening to Ben Howard’s Every Kingdom album. Every time I listen to it now, it takes me back to that day and I’m an emotional wreck.
