What Busby Wore // Poppy England
I’ve always been a great admirer of Poppy England dresses, for both children and adults (yes, they do beautiful dresses for us grownups too!), so when Busby was offered a gorgeous Martha Boats dress from their Spring/Summer range I was over the moon!
I let Busby choose from the selection of colours (indigo, yellow, red and light blue) and she chose this gorgeous indigo/navy shade, for which I was very grateful, as it’s definitely the most practical colour for a Toddler who loves exploring outside!
The design is absolutely divine – my favourite things are the string of festoon lights on the yellow band at the front of the dress (they remind me of our wedding), and the alternating coloured buttons on the back of the dress. I love the boat design that continues all the way around the bottom of the dress.
I think it looks beautiful as a pinafore for the cooler Spring days (we seem to have a lot of these in Yorkshire!), and will also be brilliant on warmer Summer days. The dress has a thin lining and is made of 100% cotton, so it’s perfect for the warmer weather. It’s very breathable.
The Martha Boats dress seems to be very comfortable and isn’t restrictive at all – there is also lots of growing room for the size (age 2-3) thanks to the adjustable ribbon at the back of the dress.
The Martha Boats dress costs £62 and is available to buy on the Poppy England website. It would make a gorgeous gift for a little person, or for a special occasion. The dress also comes with a beautifully illustrated story book about the characters in the boats on the dress – which I think is a lovely touch!
