Busby // 31 Months

Busby became a big sister this month, which is fairly big news! She’s still not completely taken with Indy, as he’s taking up a lot of our time (mine especially due to breastfeeding), but she’s coming to terms with his presence. She’s very sweet with him at night; kissing him on the head before she goes to bed.

Although I haven’t been able to spend much time with her over the past few weeks, she has been spending lots more time with Nick, which she has definitely appreciated! They’ve both enjoyed baking together – and we’ve discovered that she loves looking through recipe books – just as we do. Most of her imagination play recently has involved getting the “train to London to buy ingredients”!

Busby has really enjoyed Nursery this month, and hasn’t kicked up the normal fuss about attending since Indy has arrived. She seems to be flourishing there, which is reassuring. She loves doing anything creative – and they seem to do lots of painting, drawing and sticking!

Her favourite food this month has definitely been strawberries; she can’t get enough of them! She’s still obsessed with ham and cheese sandwiches… and has to have one for lunch everyday.

She has absolutely loved the addition of the paddling pool in the garden, and it has been very useful for keeping her entertained.

Busby has had a serious growth spurt in the past month, and has grown out of most of her trousers! I bought a pair of age 4-5 trousers in a sale to put away for next year and they fit – which was a bit of a shock!!! She’s swiftly transforming from a toddler into a pre-schooler. *sob*

She has come out with some hilarious statements this month, but this has to be the best:
(In response to Indy crying) “Mummy? Are you going to get your boobies out again?”
At least she understands about breastfeeding I suppose!

Strawberries seem to be a magic food for little ones. Z absolutely loves them too. It sounds like she’s a wonderful big sister and she’s growing up so quickly. Must be reassuring that she loves nursery too. It’s such a relief when they actually want to go. x

Older siblings seem to go through a remarkable transition when a new baby arrives, it always surprises me how quickly they grow up! I love the quote about breastfeeding, one of mine used to shout Mummy, your boobs are needed every time the baby murmered… a little embarassing in the silence of a church service. (Yup that happened!)

It sounds like she has adjusted well to becoming a big sister, that is always a worry. She will grow up even faster now. We were looking back a pictures of Ethan from this past year and can’t believe how much he has grown. #SSAmazingAchievements sorry I’m late x
