What Busby and Indy Wore // Cleo Cobb

We’re huge supporters of handmade businesses here at Make, Do and Push! Towers, so when super stylish, trendy Mama of two, Cleo Cobb got in touch and asked whether we’d be interested in reviewing some of her gorgeous handmade children’s clothes I was very excited! Especially as I knew exactly which design I’d like the children to have… and it had to be matching, of course!

Yellow rain clouds!

Cleo started her wonderful handmade business after creating projects for her blog, www.cleocobb.co.uk, which she began in order to document the creative things she did as a stay at home mum. Some of these projects were gifts for friends and family while others developed into the products she now makes and sells through her shop.

Indy is wearing Cleo’s brand new babygro and Busby is in the toddler tee. Both are appliquéd with a yellow rain cloud design, embellished with two rows of brightly coloured machine stitching. One black and the other is pillar box red. I love the contrast of the stitching with the bright yellow – gorgeous and bold!

A piece of ultra soft interfacing is bonded to the underside of each design to protect the stitching and, most importantly, to protect little bodies from any irritation.

One of my favourite things about these awesome handmade items are the sleeves, which are rolled up and secured into place with a few machine stitches. So on trend!

The t-shirt and babygro are made from 100% cotton and are ethically made with minimal environmental impact, a fair trade guarantee and a promise of no child labour. They are super soft, and wash well, although the appliquéd cloud could probably do with an iron post-wash.

Cleo’s fab range of tees (and more recently babygros) have been inspired by the looks and trends she saw growing up in the eighties and nineties. It’s a collection that stands out, while offering comfort and durability. The clothes are perfect for playtime!

From striking lightning bolts to dreamy clouds, each hand-cut icon can be customised with a fabric of your choice from Cleo’s fab collection – you can even choose your colour of thread on a custom order!

Be on the lookout for birch wood and acrylic handmade bow ties and hair clip accessories in the coming months, as well as an exciting customisation project for up-cycled denim!

The yellow rain cloud toddler tee costs £18 and the yellow rain cloud babygro is £19. Both are available to buy from Cleo Cobb’s Etsy shop. Cleo also has a stall at Spitalfields market every Saturday.
