I can’t quite believe I’m writing this post already!?! Needless to say it has been a very quick month… but at the same time, it’s like Indy has always been a part of our family. He’s fitted in wonderfully and I can’t imagine life without him. I am completely smitten. Even at 4am. After a two hour cluster feed.
At one month, Indy is now having longer periods of alert time. We’ve found Busby’s gym matt, so Indy has been having some kick around time lying on it. He doesn’t really enjoy lying on his back, as suffers from rather painful wind and a gripey tummy, but he’s got a very strong neck and has enjoyed some tummy time… whilst partaking in one of his favourite activities; looking around for food, or “Boob Lady” as I’m now called in our household.
Yes, this boy is ruled by his tummy! He seems to be very hungry all of the time, which has earned him a number of affectionate names such as “Breast Limpet” and “Boob Muncher”. I don’t know what we expected really; he did begin life in my womb eating 17 course Michelin starred dinners on Honeymoon…! When last weighed, at 3 weeks, he was a hefty 8lb 11.5oz, and had surpassed his birth weight.
He’s a very long baby (compared to how teeny Busby was) measuring at around 56cm! He’s now grown out of newborn clothing and his feet are reaching the ends of some of his 0-3 month suits. I’ve been considering chopping the feet off and hemming them, just so we can get more wear out of all his gorgeous clothes!
Indy really hates to be put down and he’s yet to sleep in his crib for more than 10 minutes. He’s sleeping on me at night, which has been rather lovely, although it’s not entirely practical forever! He doesn’t even like sleeping next to me on the bed – it has to be on me. I’m hoping Ewan the Dream Sheep might save the day…
We’ve had some gorgeous cooing noises from Indy already, accompanied by adorable faces. No smiles that aren’t wind-associated yet, but he’ll get there!
