Busby, Busby Updates

Busby // 32 months

busby 32 monthsAnother month has passed by and Busby seems so grown up these days! I don’t know whether it’s because Indy is a newborn and so small, but she seems to have tripled in size over the past few weeks!

With only a few months before she turns three, we’ve really been experiencing the “threenager” this month… Parenting has been a battleground and a serious challenge for all. I’m getting so tired of repeating myself and arguing with her constantly, but I’m hoping this is just part of her development, and that we’re not going to be a loggerheads for all eternity.

Once again, she’s loved baking this month, and had lots of fun with Nick last weekend making bread. She loves perusing recipe books and I asked her what she’d like to do during our Mummy-Busby time once we’re back from Sussex, and her answer was “baking”. She’ll have her own food blog before we know it!

Her language and conversation has come on leaps and bounds again this month; using “because” in sentences, and coming up with scenarios for her and Flopsy Bunny. Albeit, some of them are rather strange!

She is amazing at the Alphablocks game on the CBeebies app – recognising letters and spelling words.

I still don’t think she’s entirely convinced by siblinghood; at the moment Indy is more of an inconvenience to her than anything else, but as he’s starting to become more alert, she’s beginning to realise that he won’t be monopolising my time forever, and that (at some point) he’ll be able to play too! She’s been lovely showing him how to use the play gym we were gifted a couple of weeks ago.

Her favourite reads this month have been On my Scooter by Dick Bruna, a dinosaur fact book which she was kindly gifted by a friend when Indy was born, Shoe Baby by Joyce & Polly Dunbar and Toolbox Teddy which was a very sweet gift from one of our new neighbours.

She’s become very interested in ballerinas this month, and I’m on the hunt for ballet classes for her as I think they’d be a good way for her to exert some of her extra energy! This girl never stops moving!

I remember that age well and a friend told me as soon as they turn three, things get easier. I didn’t believe her, but it was totally true, almost to the day I noticed a big difference. It sounds like she is doing well and coming around to the idea of a sibling, that’s a relationship that will really blossom over time.

Lovely update, I bet she’ll really enjoy ballet, hope you find somewhere that fits in timing wise for you.
It’s great that the sibling bond is starting to develop, as Indy grows and she sees he’s getting more interested in what she does, she’ll hopefully want to show him and share what she’s doing.

She sounds a lot like Athena in the energy stakes! I really hope the threenager business is a short lived stage for you! Love that she loves baking, wish I could get A interested but alas she’d rather just take all the shoes off the rack!
I’ve not heard of any of her favourite books so will be keeping an eye out for them! Thanks for linking up to #WhatmyKidDid
