Siblings // November 2015
There’s been a little more interaction between my two bears this month.
Indy continues to be mesmerised by his big sister and everything she does. His favourite thing seems to be watching her in the bath – Busby is rather odd and enjoys the cold – and having cold water thrown on her (at her request I hasten to add!). Indy has giggling fits whenever this happens, and Busby exclaims “More! More cold!” through her own hysterics.
Now he’s starting to roll and caterpillar, Indy is desperately trying to make his way to Busby… and play with her toys! He loves her Duplo. She still isn’t so sure about this sharing malarkey, especially as he tends to break whatever she’s building, apart!
I’ve been trying to encourage Busby to chat to Indy more, and entertain him while I wash up or prepare lunch. This has been met by threenagery comments such as “no, he’s boring!” and “I don’t want to” – I hope she’ll start to realise soon that she has a potential ally in Indy as the months go on.
Although the ‘point’ of having a little brother hasn’t exactly hit home with Busby yet, she has been rather adorable with him at times. She said to me last week: “Mummy, when Indy is older, he is going to be my best friend!” and I really do hope this will be true.
