My Wild Ones, Photos

My Wild Ones // A photo project for 2016

my wild ones headerI’m not usually one for making New Year’s resolutions, but there are some lifestyle changes I want to make in 2016; I feel like I’ve spent most of 2015 frantically paddling to keep my head above water in a strong sea of fear, anxiety and sleep deprivation.

One of these “resolutions” is to get out and about, and explore with the children more. I always imagined our life in Yorkshire to be full of outside adventures in the countryside; I’d cast aside my phone and other technology, we’d switch off CBeebies, and we’d spend our days enjoying everything Yorkshire has to offer. However, thus far since the move, I’ve turned into something of an agoraphobic, with my anxiety getting the better of me due to numerous reasons.

In 2016 I’m determined for us to get more fresh air. Hop on the bus or train and explore the surrounding areas. Go for walks in the country. Visit the beautiful beaches Yorkshire has to offer. Make the most of this county. I’d like to make some happy memories of our time in Yorkshire.

Another one of my “resolutions” is to improve on my photography. I’ve always loved taking photos, and have been slowly getting to grips with my DSLR over the past few years. Seeing how fellow bloggers, such as Annie, have honed their photography skills over the last year or two has inspired me to embrace the ISO, the aperture and get my Light Box on (ooh matron).

Which is why I’m starting a new photo project for myself, and I’d love for you to join in too! The name is My Wild Ones (#mywildones) and the idea is that you take a photo, or a series of photos, of your little people exploring every week for a year. The photos don’t just have to be about exploration outside; you could take photos of your child/children exploring new books, or toys, or even baking, or making!

I’m looking forward to seeing how my bears grow and develop over the year, as well as planning some fun trips for the three of us during the week!

The linky will go live every Thursday, giving you the weekend (and a few extra days) to curate and edit your shots, and will be live until the following Monday. I’ll be commenting on every post, as well as sharing my favourite post(s) in the following week’s blog.

Don’t forget to grab my badge for your posts and tweet me your links (@mamamakedopush) so I can share!

The first post will go live on Thursday 7th January 2016.

I can’t wait to see what you all get up to! Eek!

What a fantastic idea. One of my resolutions (although I hate this word) for the New Year is to also get to grips with our DSLR which we’ve had for about five years and I only know the very basics.

    I’ll definitely be joining in.

It helps that you’ve a pretty badge for it too.

This sounds like a great linky! One of my New Year blogging resolutions is to take better photos, so I would love to join in with you! Does the post have to be just photos, or can it contain text too? Just wondering as I do an outdoor post each week for my Whatever the Weather linky and wondering if I can use that outdoor post too, in the hope that my photography improves? 🙂 x

Aww I love this idea, I would love to join in too. I struggle making any sort of commitments with projects as I just end up failing and then I worry i can’t just join in from time to time. But I love the idea, my new years resolution is to pick up my big camera more and improve my photography. I will definitely try, but will look forward to reading whatever! x
