This month’s Siblings is slightly cobbled together as it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to get a photo of my two bears together now that H-Bear is crawling! He wants to be off everywhere; exploring the world, and eating EVERYTHING he can get his little paws on!
We’re still experiencing serious double standards over toys; Busby won’t let H-Bear play with her things, but it’s fine for her to play with his… He’s starting to fight back a little, with annoyed sounds and cries, but I can see myself exasperatedly saying “Will you just share?!” rather frequently over the next few years! He absolutely loves the days that Busby is at Nursery, because he has free reign over the house and therefore the toys…!
They’re looking very similar this month, and we’ve had lots of “two peas in a pod” comments. I was looking back at photos of Busby at 8-9 months last week, and they are identical in some images!
Interestingly, H-Bear has started getting rather possessive over me, and if Busby is sat on my lap, he will crawl over and pull himself up so he’s standing next to me… and then try to get onto my lap whilst protesting and crying! Busby was always fairly easy going if I held another baby when she was little, so this is a whole new world for me! These two are just so different in every way.
They still have their moments of loveliness however, and their bond is increasing daily. Busby keeps asking me when H-Bear will be able to walk, and says that “when he can run, we will run together! We will run around faster and faster!” and the excitement in her eyes is magical.
I think it’s a big sister’s prerogative to find her little brother annoying, and I’m sure there will be times when H-Bear feels similarly. At the moment, he just wants to follow her around and join in with everything she’s doing – and he will love nothing more than running with her in the months to come.
