What Busby Wore // Unicorns + Wands from Katie Victoria Designs

Katie Victoria Design Review

A few weeks ago creative Mama Katie (of Katie Victoria Designs) sent a lovely email to Make, Do & Push! HQ asking us to choose some items from her amazing handmade range of fancy dress headwear and party hats. I instantly fell for the gorgeous unicorn hats in her store, and chose one for Busby and one for H-Bear.

They arrived in the most gorgeous gold packaging, with a surprise wand for Busby, and some cheeky personalised smarties/M&Ms which Busby and I had a nibble on!

Originally the hats were for Busby and H-Bear, but H-Bear has decided in the past couple of weeks that he no longer likes hats, and so the photo shoot with both children ended in disaster. (Don’t they say “never work with children or animals”…?!)

Consequently, Busby and I had a fun little shoot whilst H-Bear had a rare nap in his pushchair instead!

The hats are lovingly handcrafted from high quality white wool, and are very hardy, which is a must for energetic little people who aren’t very careful about taking things on and off! They’d make the perfect addition to any dressing up box!

The mane and horn can be customised with a variety of coloured glitter fabrics; we opted for pink and silver, but I love the turquoise too!

The hats are elasticated to keep them on little heads, and unlike paper party hats, the elastic stays put!

Busby was also sent a wand, which was a lovely surprise! The wand is made from wood, ribbons and glitter fabric, and matches her unicorn hat.

The wand is ideal for a Room on the Broom mad little person, and she has had a wonderful time waving it around, casting spells!

Once again, the wand is hardy and incredibly well-made and seems very durable so far!

The fabulous unicorn hats cost £11.99 each, and the wand can be bought in a set for £16.99. The items would all make lovely presents for someone, or for your own little people, to add to their fancy dress box!

Katie has a fantastic array of goodies in her gorgeous Etsy store (including the CUTEST penguin hat and personalised birthday party hats!), and every item is beautifully handmade, so pop on over with a cup of tea for a peruse!

I LOVE these! And it looks like Busby does too. I remember Toby went through a hat hating phase around H-Bear’s age too. On a side note I love the colour of your wall 🙂
