What the Children Wore // #SameDifference from PO.P
With the insanity currently ensuing in our country (and the world!), we could all do with reminding that, fundamentally, we are all the same: we are all people. The lovely folk at one of our favourite children’s wear brands, Polarn O.Pyret, have recently released their exciting, vibrant #SameDifference clothing range to celebrate their 40 year birthday, and the timing couldn’t really be more perfect.
For forty years, PO.P have created clothes that allow children to be children. The brand has spent the past four decades wonderfully challenging gender roles, and prides itself on providing unisex colours and patterns that can be handed down easily.
The #SameDifference range is entirely unisex, demonstrating that boys and girls can wear these clothes interchangeably; showing that clothes are clothes, colours are colours, and to me (with the stunning rainbow colours) they also represent the massively important message: #LoveisLove.
We headed off to a beautiful poppy field over the weekend to capture this shoot from PO.P, and I am completely in love with the results:
The children were each sent an outfit from the range; H-Bear a beautiful rainbow tee and purple shorts, and Busby a divine rainbow playsuit (which I wish they made in my size).
The garments are made from organic cotton, so they’re super soft to touch. The dye-lock technology in the fabric keeps the stripes bright, wash after wash, which is something I always like to look for in organic cotton, as I do find that some organic clothes tend to fade.
H-Bear’s t-shirt has handy poppers in the shoulder for easy changing. I love the rainbow-flecked drawstring on his shorts too – such a small detail, but it really adds to the outfit.
I’m always hesitant about dressing Busby in playsuits since we potty trained, but the PO.P playsuit fastens with poppers on each shoulder, which are much easy than buttons for independent changing/toilet breaks!
Busby wears size 3-4 years, and H-Bear is in size 9-12 months. PO.P’s sizing is definitely on the larger side, which is great as these gorgeous clothes will see them through the rest of summer, and possibly next spring for Busby.
The garments are ideal for running, jumping and climbing in; they’re not restrictive at all, making them perfect for play!
The #SameDifference Baby Tee costs £10, and the shorts are also £10. Busby’s #SameDifference playsuit costs £20. All of the above items can be found on Polarn O. Pyret’s wonderful website (and shh! They currently have a sale on too!) – pop on over for a peruse this naptime/night feed/heady children’s clothing buying session.
