What the Children Wore // #SameDifference from PO.P

#samedifference polarn o pyret rangeWith the insanity currently ensuing in our country (and the world!), we could all do with reminding that, fundamentally, we are all the same: we are all people. The lovely folk at one of our favourite children’s wear brands, Polarn O.Pyret, have recently released their exciting, vibrant #SameDifference clothing range to celebrate their 40 year birthday, and the timing couldn’t really be more perfect.

For forty years, PO.P have created clothes that allow children to be children. The brand has spent the past four decades wonderfully challenging gender roles, and prides itself on providing unisex colours and patterns that can be handed down easily.

The #SameDifference range is entirely unisex, demonstrating that boys and girls can wear these clothes interchangeably; showing that clothes are clothes, colours are colours, and to me (with the stunning rainbow colours) they also represent the massively important message: #LoveisLove.

We headed off to a beautiful poppy field over the weekend to capture this shoot from PO.P, and I am completely in love with the results:

The children were each sent an outfit from the range; H-Bear a beautiful rainbow tee and purple shorts, and Busby a divine rainbow playsuit (which I wish they made in my size).

The garments are made from organic cotton, so they’re super soft to touch. The dye-lock technology in the fabric keeps the stripes bright, wash after wash, which is something I always like to look for in organic cotton, as I do find that some organic clothes tend to fade.

H-Bear’s t-shirt has handy poppers in the shoulder for easy changing. I love the rainbow-flecked drawstring on his shorts too – such a small detail, but it really adds to the outfit.

I’m always hesitant about dressing Busby in playsuits since we potty trained, but the PO.P playsuit fastens with poppers on each shoulder, which are much easy than buttons for independent changing/toilet breaks!

Busby wears size 3-4 years, and H-Bear is in size 9-12 months. PO.P’s sizing is definitely on the larger side, which is great as these gorgeous clothes will see them through the rest of summer, and possibly next spring for Busby.

The garments are ideal for running, jumping and climbing in; they’re not restrictive at all, making them perfect for play!

The #SameDifference Baby Tee costs £10, and the shorts are also £10. Busby’s #SameDifference playsuit costs £20. All of the above items can be found on Polarn O. Pyret’s wonderful website (and shh! They currently have a sale on too!) – pop on over for a peruse this naptime/night feed/heady children’s clothing buying session.

Oh wow Hannah, these photos are amazing and the colours on the clothes from Polarn O. Pyret are stunning, so bright and they just PO.P don’t they? 😉
I’ve not heard of the brand before but I’m going to go and have a nosey now, they seem very reasonably priced for such beautiful outfits and organic cotton as well.
Ah, I just love these photos – especially the one of Busby holding a poppy above H-Bear’s head, just adorable!
Love the message as well, in our dark world we need all of the joy and love that we can find!

What bloody GORGEOUS pictures, Hannah! I just adore these. We have these Po.P t-shirts AND the tiny little bodysuit for the new girls and we love them – not only the bright, cheery design but also how well Po.P holds up to the wear and tear of babies/toddlers. The twins have been wearing my favourite Po.P t-shirt for over a year now and aside from a tiny bit of wash wear it looks as good as new.

These are such gorgeous photos. Stunning. And I LOVE the beautiful clothes. I am expecting my second rainbow baby in two weeks and so I am obsessed with the idea of dressing him in rainbow colours. And I already love to dress Little Miss H in all the colours of the rainbow too. They are unisex and suit all babes wonderfully. And I am with you, I wish that playsuit came in my size. Hugs Lucy xxxx

Oh my goodness this is adorable. I am desperate to find a Poppy field to shoot Poppy in. I have dreams of a long picture frame with a photo of Poppy in the Poppies, Rosie in the roses and Daisy in the daisies. These outfits are so cute too. I love the same but different angle and often do this sort of thing with my girls. The rainbow colours are adorable and Polarn O.Pyret always have such lovely things. We’ve had lots of their dresses over the years. Just gorgeous. Thanks for the mention too and glad Poppys outfit made you smile xx

These are lovely. I love a bit of unisex. My son has quite long hair and a lady asked me why I haven’t cut it…or whether I ‘just dress him in blue so people know’… I pointed out that he is 18 months old and doesn’t know he is a boy haha. I love anything colourful so this really appeals! #funkykidsfriday

Thanks for recommending Polarn O.Pyret on Twitter the other day! We purchased some beautiful clothes. These #SameDifference togs look super cute! Love how you’ve shot them in a poppy field too! Very colourful xx #TriedTested sound like a great brand to work with x

We adore this brand and have spent many an hour shopping in store and online! There clothes are just so lovely and I love the rainbow print of the pieces for B and H-Bear, gorgeous!!! WE love the store too because they have little tunnels for the little ones to play in whilst the parents are browsing/shopping.
