We are huge Miffy fans here at Make, Do & Push! HQ, so we were over the moon when the gorgeous Miffy Shape Sorter arrived on our doorstep.
The shape sorter is made from wood, with four wooden shapes and corresponding holes. It’s beautifully, but simply, illustrated with bright Miffy and Dick Bruna related paintings. Busby has loved pointing out her favourite characters.
The sorter is on the smaller side (15cm x 14cm), which makes it ideal for storing away on bookshelves or in toy boxes. It would make the cutest gift for a first or second birthday, or even a Christmas present.
H-Bear was very excited to get stuck into learning his new toy, and Busby took it upon herself to teach him, which was all kinds of cute. He picked it up really quickly, and now he’s a pro; clapping every time he gets a wooden block through the designated hole.
It’s been wonderful for developing his problem solving skills, and also his fine motor skills. All of the pieces are beautifully smooth, and it’s such a lovely, tactile little game. I can definitely see why he loves it so much!
Busby is also a big fan, and asks me whether she can play with the shape sorter every time H-Bear moves onto another toy (we’ve had a few altercations recently with toys, so we now have to ask whether we can play with something known to be owned by the other sibling – works well with Busby… not so well with H-Bear as he can’t talk!). It’s far too young for her, but I think she enjoys the simplicity of it. And the Miffy characters adorning the sides!
The Miffy Shape Sorter costs £18 and can be found in the Miffy Shop. This beautiful toy would make such a gorgeous gift for any Miffy-loving family, and my two are definitely smitten with it.
