One of my favourite things about Christmas is covering the house in lights. There’s nothing quite like getting cosy in the glow of fairy lights twinkling from the tree, or above the fireplace. So when the folk at LEDHUT challenged me to create a Christmas display with a selection of their lights, I was looking forward to embracing the Christmas spirit… with a hint of Hygge.
I was sent three sets to play with: multi-coloured icicle string LED lights (for indoor/outdoor use), LED stars (for indoor use – battery powered), and a set of white twinkle lights (for indoor/outdoor use). I was also sent a window shooting star, which is battery powered.
I’m not a big fan of all the lights in one place, as think it can look quite tacky and garish. So instead my display is more of a cosy-inspired Christmas house!
I popped the shooting star in my favourite window looking out into the garden.
How beautiful are the lights reflecting in the window??
Then I decided to use the icicle lights outside on our ivy covered fence, as I thought it would look rather beautiful entwined in the ivy.
The best thing about this light placement is that you can see the outdoor lights through the window too – and the children get excited when I switch them on every evening. They make a beautiful backdrop for the star.
I used the battery powered star lights to surround our family chalkboard. They look so fun, and H-Bear just stands staring at them, so they’re pretty great for distraction!
The final set of lights have been strung up in the family room, entwined in bunting, photos and the tassel bunting that I made for our top table at the wedding! I think they look rather magical twinkling away!
If you’re looking for new lights this Christmas then definitely pop over to the LEDHUT website. They have a cheeky sale going on at the moment too!
