It’s the last Siblings post of 2016! And it’s ending on a Christmassy high…!
This month I’m featuring photos from our visit to see Father Christmas in Beverley. We actually saw two Father Christmases on Saturday: the one featured is the Rotary Club Big Man, who was awesome… the Grotto FC was a little bit naff to be honest, but Busby loved them both!
H-Bear was fairly nonplussed by the whole experience – although he sat next to Father Christmas without crying, or asking for me, so that’s an improvement on the clingyness we usually experience with people he doesn’t know very well.
The run up to Christmas this year has been especially magical with two children who sort of know something exciting is around the corner! We’ve made three batches of mince pies so far, painted some decorations, and made paper chains. They came with us to choose a Christmas tree (for the first time – thank you bigger car) and we all decorated it together whilst drinking mulled wine (the adults!) and listening to Christmas music.
Talking of the Christmas tree… H-Bear is utterly enthralled with it, and turns into a creature akin to a kitten when near it. This isn’t in the Christmas spirit at all, but I am rather looking forward to taking it down in January, as it’s a source of stress when I’m trying to get dinner ready!!! Although my hearing has tuned rather impressively to the sound of him fiddling with the tree, and I can now hear when I’m upstairs… which Nick thought was fairly impressive when I bellowed down the stairs on Sunday “<INSERT FULL NAME> LEAVE THE TREE ALOOOOONE!”
Busby turns four on 20th December, so we have something else to celebrate as well as Christmas this month. She’s so excited about her impending birthday, and so am I… if a little emotional!
December is always a busy month, but a wonderful one!
