What the Children Wore // Bobux, the Memphis Edit
We’re huge fans of Bobux shoes here at Make, Do & Push! HQ. H-Bear and Busby have now been the proud owners of a couple of pairs of their shoes, and the quality never fails to amaze me.
Bobux originated in New Zealand, but are now sold worldwide. The company was started by founders Chris and Colleen Bennett, who designed the world’s first all leather Soft Sole for their daughter, Chloe. Since then they’ve continued to make shoes that “are the best thing parents can do for their kids feet”.
The children were sent a pair each from the Memphis Edit, which I am completely in love with!
For Busby I chose the Rebel Boots in Gold Gloss.
I have to admit that when they first arrived I wasn’t that keen on the finish (they’re inspired by the Memphis Design Movement – the bold block colouring pays hommage to the 80s movement), but the more she’s worn them, the more I’ve fallen for them. I often find myself wishing they were made in my size so we could twin!
The boots are made from shiny luxe leather, and are so versatile! Busby has worn them with everything from party dresses over Christmas, to the basic jeans and t-shirt combo. The velcro fastening at the top means she can take them off herself; encouraging independence. She’s worn them almost daily this winter.
H-Bear was sent a pair of the Rebel Boots in Rebel Red, and he adores them (as do I!).
Again they are made from luxe leather – although with a matte finish this time.
Like Busby, H-Bear has worn them with everything! And they’re a definite favourite with everyone we meet – they were especially coveted over Christmas when they finished off his elf costume!
Both boots seem to be incredibly comfortable, and we’ve had no complaints from the children; in fact, both request to wear them. Both children have wider fit feet, and these have lots of space in them. They’ve been the ideal boot so far this winter, and have even survived a puddle or three!
Both pairs of boots retail from £45 per pair, and can be found on the Bobux website. If you’re looking for funky, versatile boots to see the children through until spring then I can’t recommend these enough!
