What the Children Wore // Muddy Puddles Raindrops

muddy puddles raindropsWe love Muddy Puddles: both the brand and the soggy, dirty wet things! (Well the children love the latter… I, on the other hand, should have taken out stocks in Vanish!) So when we were sent a package containing gorgeous raindrop pyjamas and new raindrop Puddlestomper wellies, I couldn’t wait to start planning the shoot.

I first saw the raindrop pattern at the Muddy Puddles SS17 press show which Busby and I attended back in October, and immediately loved it. The weather theme is so on trend at the moment, and this print is just perfect.

I decided to stick with the weather theme for the shoot, so we trekked up the hill near their grandparents’ house for some photos. My trusty rainbow umbrella came along with us, as did their cuddly rabbits – Flopsy and Benjamin!

The pyjamas are made from the softest cotton and are such marvellous quality.

For Busby I opted for the rainbow colours, as I thought she’d enjoy the variety. The print is gender neutral and wonderfully vibrant.

For H-Bear I chose the blue-toned pjs, as I thought the shades would really make his eyes stand out. I think his pair are my favourite out of the two as they’re a bit more subtle, but still rather lovely.

Busby wears age 4-5 years and H-Bear age 2-3. Both are a good fit with some room to grow, so I’d size up to get the most wear out of them.

The pjs wash well, with the print remaining bold and beautiful!

As for the wellies…

We LOVE Muddy Puddles wellies! If you follow us on Instagram (@makedoandpush) you will see them featured on our feed almost daily, because it’s SO muddy at the moment and H-Bear needs his daily walk in the woods…

We’ve been the proud owners of the yellow and navy cloud combo for a few months now, but both children have almost grown out of those, so the raindrops have now taken their place.

The shade of yellow has changed to a lighter, brighter one, which I think makes the raindrop print stand out more.

We have received so many lovely comments whilst out and about; the ladies on our road especially love seeing H-Bear in them!

They’re seem to be super comfortable to wear; running, climbing and jumping is never an issue!

The reflective stripes down the back also make them handy for wearing on the walk home from school, as depending how much H-Bear dawdles, we still get caught out after sunset.

The Raindrop Pyjamas retail at £20 and the Raindrop Puddlestomper Wellies retails at £20. All items can be found on the Muddy Puddles website… and they have a sale on at the moment!

Well if there’s a surefire way to put pyjamas to the test, it’s probably to run around in the woods with them on! THey are so very cute and yes, while I do like them both I think I like the blue ones best. The wellies are so fun! My eldest has got what he calls ‘farmers wellies’ now – plain green bog standard wellies, and they’re so boring! We definitely need some more fun in our wellies!
