Busby // The First Haircut

I’ve been putting it off. And off. And off again, for months. But on Saturday, Busby had her first real haircut in a salon! With the start of school approaching in September, and summer on the way (maybe?), it felt like the right time to have her lovely long locks cut…

The day before our appointment, Busby asked me whether I could leave her there so she could “be a big girl, like you mummy” I think my heart might have broken a little (when did she get so grown up?). I told her that I wouldn’t be able to leave her this time, but maybe when she was a bit older (in my head I was thinking: “Yes, when you’re 18!”).

I’m so glad I took my camera to capture her haircut. And to be honest, I probably would have been a complete mess of embarrassing mum tears without it! It was good to have something to slightly distract me away from the fact that my daughter is growing up to quickly…

A big thanks to Meg at En Route in Walton for being so good with Busby, and making her first haircutting experience a great one! I think the biscuits were her highlight…!

Next stop, purchasing school uniform… Excuse me while I sob into my cake.

Oh look how happy she looks with it cut! Just gorgeous but yes that reminder of growing up is so emotional isn’t it? x
