Lovely Things // Sylvanian Families Vintage Cake Shop

Sylvanian Families were definitely one of my favourite things about being a child. I had the barge, the village shop, the pony and cart and a few other accessories, and I used to completely lose myself in their world and in my imagination.

Busby was sent the Sylvanian Families Vintage Cake Shop (or as we’ve renamed it: Sylvanian Families Betty’s), and it has been a huge hit!

The cake shop comes with poodle Veronica Cakebread and so many little cakes and accessories (including a bowl, whisk and other baking utensils). My favourite cakes are the cream swans, which are so darling! Busby loves the chocolate cake… for obvious reasons!

There are little cake stands, a beautiful copper till and even paper dollies. It’s so tiny and perfect, and I find myself fiddling with it every time I go into Busby’s bedroom.

According to Busby, we “share” the shop – which I’m more than happy to go along with!

Busby was also sent the rest of the poodle Cakebread family to help run the shop, and they’ve been a fab addition to her Sylvanian Families collection.

She can spend hours coming up with stories and adventures for the Sylvanian Families. It makes me so happy; she’s exactly how I was when I was little like her.

Sylvanian Families are such a fantastic way to encourage imagination play. I find it absolutely fascinating to watch her create these stories and characters.

The Vintage Cake Shop is absolutely divine; so much detail has gone into making this beautiful little shop. It also connects onto the bottom of the Cosy Cottage which Busby already has, making a two-tier building.

Busby has already chosen which buildings and characters she would like for her birthday and Christmas in December, so I can see Sylvanian Families sticking around in our household for many years to come (yay!).

The Sylvanian Families Vintage Cake Shop retails at around £40, and the Toy Poodle Family Set retails at £18. More information, and for the whole range, please visit the Sylvanian Families website.

Aw that little cake shop is so cute! I can’t wait until my little one is old enough to play with Sylvanian Families like I did as a child.
