Toys // Twirlywoos Great Bighoo & Big Red Boat

The Twirlywoos are truly hypnotic. I remember when Busby first watched an episode a couple of years ago – I’ve never seen her sit so still (and I’m not sure she has since)! And now H-Bear is the perfect age to enjoy the Twirlywoos! As you can imagine, he was very excited when Great Bighoo and the Big Red Boat arrived on our doorstep.

H-Bear was sent a Fun Sounds Great Bighoo soft toy and the new Fun Sounds Big Red Boat to play with.

Both have been big hits, although the boat more so as H-Bear can’t resist anything with wheels!

Fun Sounds Big Red Boat

The Big Red Boat toy is a mini replica from the TV series and has the key characters waving at the windows. It has three fun sounds – the sea, the famous Twirlywoos horn, and a wonderful ‘boing’ sound. The sounds are played by pressing down on certain parts of the boat. Parents reading this will also be happy to know that there is an on-off switch for the noises!

The boat can be pushed around thanks to the wheels at the base. H-Bear LOVES this, and the Big Red Boat has joined his merry troop of cars and buses on his adventures. It’s absolutely perfect for imagination play and hand-eye coordination.

The Big Red Boat can’t actually be put in water, which is a shame because the children would love to take it in the bath with them to continue their Twirlywoos adventures.

The toy takes 2 x AAA batteries and is for 18 months+.

Fun Sounds Great Bighoo soft toy

I have been amazed by how soft and cuddly Great Bighoo is!

Great Bighoo is a gorgeous plush toy, perfect for age 10 months+. H-Bear has loved playing with and cuddling him!

The toy makes six different ‘Great Bighoo noises’ when you press his tummy (although we’re not convinced he sounds entirely like Great Bighoo all the time!).

Nevertheless, he’s still very fun and loveable! Although mostly aimed at the preschool age group, Busby has also enjoyed playing with the Twirlywoos and taking Great Bighoo on imaginary picnics!

Great Bighoo retails at £16.99 and the Big Red Boat retails at £14.99. Both of the above toys can be found on the Golden Bear Toys website.
