The “threenager” is still present, and she’s become even more eloquent voicing her opinion. She appears to have grasped sarcasm, which is a worry, and we often have the teenagesque “okaaaay!” thrown back at us if we ask her to do something…! Life is still a battleground of wills and wants, but she does seem to have mellowed slightly this month. [Read more…]
With only a few months before she turns three, we’ve really been experiencing the “threenager” this month… Parenting has been a battleground and a serious challenge for all. I’m getting so tired of repeating myself and arguing with her constantly, but I’m hoping this is just part of her development, and that we’re not going to be a loggerheads for all eternity.
Once again, she’s loved baking this month, and had lots of fun with Nick last weekend making bread. She loves perusing recipe books and I asked her what she’d like to do during our Mummy-Busby time once we’re back from Sussex, and her answer was “baking”. She’ll have her own food blog before we know it! [Read more…]
Busby became a big sister this month, which is fairly big news! She’s still not completely taken with Indy, as he’s taking up a lot of our time (mine especially due to breastfeeding), but she’s coming to terms with his presence. With the weather getting warmer, and with us being in our new house, we’ve spent a lot of time in the garden together. As I can’t really be Fun Mummy, running around manically after Busby, we’ve done lots of reading on a picnic blanket or under a canopy (or in bed), and the Paddington books have been a favourite again this month! Another month has flown by, and this may be Busby’s last month as an only child! Once again she has been getting increasingly more excited about the prospect of becoming a big sister, and keeps telling me everything her and her new sidekick are going to get up to together; including, playing with her garage, using the walker (“Baby hold this side, and I hold this side, and we walk together!”) and sharing all her toys… we’ll see how that transpires once he’s a few months old and starts to grab things!
Busby’s favourite books this month have been Shoe Baby by Joyce Dunbar, which we re-discovered whilst unpacking a huge box of books after moving. Her bestie gave it to her before we left Sussex, and every time we read it she says, “H reads this book with her Daddy every day”. She’s also re-discovered a love for The Tiger Who Came to Tea by Judith Kerr. [Read more…]
