One (very surreal) month later

The very beginning…

Busby is one month old today, and what a month it has been! I’m not entirely sure where the month has gone; it’s been a blur of nappy changes, worrying, feeds, more worrying, cuddles, even more worrying…! I can’t believe how much she’s changed; she’s gone from being a tiny, scrunched up (in the nicest way possible) bundle of new baby, into an alert, stretched-out little person who has started noticing bold patterns, making interesting sounds, and who is mesmerised by the lion screen print on our bedroom wall. She can now hold her head up for enough time to look around, she’s starting to react to us tickling her feet, and her little personality is beginning to shine through. She’s also (finally) out of “tiny size” baby clothes and now fits into “newborn”… Who’d have thought 6lb 14oz would be considered almost prem size in some shops?! We’ve all been very surprised by this.

Parenthood is a very surreal experience; white noise playing from YouTube at 2am in an attempt to soothe your screaming baby, waking up to find an assortment of muslin squares and sensory toys next to your pillow, celebrating because your constipated baby has finally done a poo… Yes, it’s safe to say we’ve changed too! But it’s amazing. There’s nothing quite like it. And I can’t wait to watch how she changes and develops over the next few months (and beyond)!

Aw she’s so adorable Hannah! It goes quick huh? Although Alfie will be 2 next month and I’ve babied him a lot so feels slower with my second!
I had to laugh at the baby poo bit! There really is so much joy in a bunged up baby doing a mighty nappy whatever time in the morning! Haha I hope the months continue to go so well for you all. And little Bea was just 1oz more than my boy!xxx

Thank you 🙂 I think she is too, but I’m a little bias 😉

You must know how silly the whole baby clothe sizing thing is then? We found it so difficult to find things to fit her. All the 0-3 month clothes we had swamped her…cue my mum & Nick’s mum going out to do some emergency baby clothes shopping! xxx

Scary how much they change in such a short space of time isn’t it! I’m having the opposite problem with Sam, he’s growing out of his 0-3 month clothes before he’s even worn them, had him weighed today and he’s already 12lbs!! Enjoy being able to get some wear out of the clothes 😉

Wow!! What are you feeding him? 😉 She’s definitely having a growth spurt at the moment – we haven’t had her weighed for a few weeks, but I’ve been measuring her and she’s been growing about 1cm a week! xx

Awh she’s so teeny tiny! My youngest was 6lb 15oz & we struggled to find clothes to fit him too! Crazy, especially as he was 5 days overdue! Adorable pictures xxx

It’s madness isn’t it? A few years ago an 8lb baby was considered massive and now it’s the average size of a baby!

      Thank you 🙂 xxx
