Slummy Mummy (noun):
Me. At the moment.
Dear all,
I am tired (obviously). I am tired of wearing jeans with baby sick on. I am tired of wearing bras that most definitely do not fit my postpartum boobs. I am tired of dry, cracked hands. I’ve decided that it’s time for a change! I am currently more slummy than yummy, and it’s all getting a bit boring.
So today I begin my quest; my quest to live up to the words on my Pink Lining changing bag, my quest to cast aside the Waitrose chocolate crispy cornflake bites (well, maybe not cast them aside completely… they are rather tasty), my quest to start a proper beauty skin regime. Today I begin my quest to become a Yummy Mummy!
Every “Quest to become a Yummy Mummy” post will feature this badge (below), so keep an eye out and I hope you enjoy following my journey into yumminess.
As well as this, I’ve teamed up with the lovely Katy (over at Modern Mummy) to try to convince Gok Wan to give us a Mummy Restyle. If you agree that Gok needs to focus on us mummies, who are in dire need of his expertise, then please help us in our plight, and comment on Katy’s open letter to Gok here, and tweet using #mummygokstyle.

Hannah – you should read this post from Jen (the author of the Cake Wrecks website) about bras – http://www.epbot.com/2013/04/everything-you-never-knew-you-needed-to.html I have measured myself (and passed on the link to people at work) and it’s amazing. I am terrified of bra fitters so to be able to measure myself properly at home is a relief. Better fitting bras FTW!xxx
Thanks Katie – I’ll check it out! I am definitely in need on a well-fitted bra 🙂 xxx
This is GREAT! I’m joining you in your quest! x
Fabulous!! xx
Oh I need to join you on this – glad not the only ones with hands that are most horrendous mess 🙁 Alice x
My hands are a state! Please do join 🙂 xx
There is no way you are a slummy mummy!! You looked utterly amazing for a mama of a (fairly) new babe 🙂 If you ever want a manicure or pamper, just shout! A bit of time for yourself is never a bad idea

Oh bless you love, thank you so much 🙂 I’m feeling very slummy at the moment!
Thank you – I will have to take you up on that 😉 xxx
But you are already a gorgeous mummy! I do get that its important to FEEL beautiful too, which I realise can be difficult when you’re all sticky… so a bit of pampering is a lovely idea! I look forward to reading the posts!

It is definitely important to feel beautiful – sometimes when you’re covered in baby sick, teething dribble and porridge it’s difficult 😉 Thank you for your lovely comment 🙂 xxx
