(I) Do // The Not-so Secret Diary of a DIY Bride

So here we are.

My first entry.

What should I talk about?

Well, my wedding… obviously! My current mix of excitement, fear and tummy-butterflies about the next year and two months ahead.

So – progress?

The date has been set for the end of September 2014! Eek!

A ceremony venue has been decided upon and confirmed, as has the reception venue. Both are in our ideal locations; Brighton for the ceremony – it’s where we met and lived together for almost two years, and Lindfield where I lived from the age of 10 until I went to University. It’s a beautiful village, and our venue overlooks one of its stunning landmarks. Once we’d recovered from the comedown we experienced after we viewed an AMAZING but VERY expensive venue, I realised I couldn’t be happier with our choice… which is a great start, I’m sure you’ll agree!

What else? A Registrar has been booked. So yes, to put it not-so eloquently – it’s ooon! Let the real wedding planning commence; the crafting, the dress trying (this fills me both with extreme joy and terror in equal measures), the menu deciding. I’m sure I’ve forgotten something… Oh yes, the hundred other things that need to be organised!

Join me on my journey once a week (let’s be honest, it’ll probably more frequent as the big day approaches), as I delve head-first into the world of DIY wedding planning, and hopefully come out the other side married to my best friend!

Damn, my last (really long comment) deleted so I’m hoping this doesn’t show twice! Stalker girl!

I’m so excited to be able to follow you on your wedding plan journey. It’s always super intimidating planning such a big, special day but once you get the ball rolling it all figures itself out, I imagine! My sister is getting married a month after you, so it’ll be amazing to hear your tips!

….organising a wedding all whilst juggling a cute wee baba, you’re a multitasking genius.

    Can’t wait to read more!

      Yay – so glad you’re excited 😀

Oh fab! We wanted October but every Town and Village Hall was booked up.

Haha I wouldn’t say that – I think it’s going to be rather tough though 😉

Ooh I’m gonna like this little series of posts I’m sure. Good luck with everything. I have just over 3 weeks until our big day and we did lots of DIY. I’d completely recommend as everything is exactly how we want it and unique to us. Have fun! X

Soooo exciting! And what a small world, my grandparents lived in Lindfield for years and my aunt, uncle and cousins used to live in Haywards Heath.
