The Week That Was: Instagrammed #2

Welcome to week 2 of The Week That Was: Instagrammed. Thank you to all six of you who linked up last week – I was very chuffed! I hope you manage to link up again, and that we have some more lovely posts this week. I love reading everyone’s blogs – new and old – so please do come and say hi!

This week I’ve also included my blog posts from the week in case you fancy catching up.

A quick overview of the “rules” before we continue: Link up a photo post (Instagrammed or not) about your week. You can include products you’ve reviewed; the only exclusions are photos that are inappropriate, so no racism, bullying, homophobia or sexually explicit pics please (although I wouldn’t expect anyone to post these anyway!).

Here we go – my week!

Blog post: The Week That Was: Instagrammed #1
Sunday last week saw the launch of my new linky The Week That Was: Instagrammed! I was so happy that six people linked up, and that others seemed to love the idea.

We found ourselves at the garden centre again, and Nick bought the gorgeous English Heritage rose you can see in the photo below. We also bought the most amazing treacle tart from the baker that sells his wares there. I seriously think it’s the best treacle tart I’ve ever had. Bold statement, ahoy!

Blog post: Review and Giveaway: (This giveaway is open until noon on Sunday 14th July 2013)
I decided to head into Brighton on Monday morning as I realised all my pre-Busby dresses don’t fit me the way they used to, and I desperately needed something to wear in this hot weather! After traipsing around the shops for 4 hours (with tea and cake stops, obviously!) I found myself in Primarche *hangs head in shame* and bought three outfits for £30. Not bad really.

I also came across the horrific book below… What is our world coming to?

Blog post: What’s in your Changing Bag? featuring Lucia from My Little Acorns
Root canal: part two. I had to be in Hove (actually) for 8.45am… joy! Nick and Busby met me afterwards for the “baby handover”.

Once we got back to Lewes we headed straight to get Busby weighed; she’s now a hefty 17lbs 1.5oz!

She also had an amazing day in terms of development as she pulled herself up onto the foot rest – fantastic!

We were supposed to go to London to the launch of a new app, but as the weather was scorching I decided to stay in Lewes. Busby isn’t doing so well in the heat, so the train and tube ride wouldn’t have been fun! Instead we ended up at our local open air pool with my Mutti, which was lovely.

I also ate the best carrot cake EVER! Fact.

Blog post(s): Review: ZenBev and Beautiful Buggy Busby: An Illustration
Baby swimming as usual, which was great!

The amazing bear playgym from Little Bird Told Me arrived to review. I’ve been so excited about this since we were asked to review it a few weeks ago, so set it up as soon as it was delivered. Review to follow.

I also went out for a drink with my bridesmaid Zoe. I love that girl so much! It really helped to talk through wedding stuff with someone that has been through it all before. What a star!

Blog post: (I) Do: Wedmin Angst
Nick has been on a course in Tunbridge Wells this week, so we decided to join him on Friday morning. I didn’t think that I’d be ready to leave at 8am, but Busby was awake at 4.30am (joy) so we were more than ready!

We found ourselves in Marks and Spencers café for a feed and a read! M&S have also released these yummy vietnamese pork wraps with sweet chilli sauce… yum, and only 150 calories.

Blog post: A guest post from Nick – Our Sensory Herb Garden Continued.
We pootled off into town for some supplies (gin) before it got too hot, and came across this awesome wedding car for a 1940s themed wedding at the Town Hall.
Then Busby tried out her new paddling pool in the garden… as did Nick and I (feet only!).
Oooh, and then we headed off to check out a potential wedding reception venue early evening. After my wedmin angst earlier in the week I was feeling much happier, especially as we’ve *drum roll* decided to book the venue! It’s still not October, but September is Autumn and we love the feel of the place.
I’m also taking part in the #fmsphotoaday: July challenge on Instagram, where Fat Mum Slim has given us a list of words and we have to take photo using that word as a theme every day. So far it’s been great fun!
7. Where you are: the garden centre.
8. Path: the Yellow Brick Road (the best path of all).
9. 3 things: 3 fingers with 3 nails with 3 stripes.
10. Smooth: the top of Busby’s new paddling pool.
11. I wore this!: a cheesy grin and my awesome new dungarees.
12. A bad habit: Gin. I’ll argue that it’s a bad habit though.
13. 4 o’clock: I was writing this post up!

What have you been up to this week?

It looks like you have had a lovely cake and sun filled week!
I love that wedding car and congratulations Busby on pulling yourself up to standing! Stair gates at the ready 😀

I know – when I was writing it I kept thinking “I’ve eaten a lot of cake this week!”…

Indeed! It won’t be long – she just wants to move 🙂 xx

  2. 14th July 2013 / 1:11 pm

Maybe this is a bad idea if it’s going to show up just how much cake I eat in a week …! Oh well, too late now (and I think the only instagrammed food this week was a ham sandwich Elma filched from her Daddy!)

    • 14th July 2013 / 4:15 pm

Haha 🙂 It’s all about the cake!

Thank you so much for linking up 🙂 xx

Another crazy busy week, and oh my gosh, Busby pulling herself up, she’s growing up fast!
The pool looks perfect for this gorgeous weather, I just need to fish out all the toys from ours and cool my feet off!

    • 14th July 2013 / 7:57 pm

My weeks are slightly crazy busy at the moment… Next week is looking the same!

I hope you managed to cool your feet? 🙂 xx

I am gutted as I really wanted to link up to you with a summary of our holiday in pictures, but literally half way through writing my post and editing pictures, my hard drive suffered a fatal head crash and is no more 🙁 I can’t really post a picture heavy post from my iPad, especially as most of my images aren’t actually on Instagram. I’m scrabbling around for pennies for a replacement MacBook, and will have to try and link up once I’m back on track! It’s a lovely idea for a post and linky though!

    • 14th July 2013 / 7:58 pm

      NOOOOOOOO! Disaster!

On a side note – am I following you on Instagram?

      Thank you 🙂 xx

    • 14th July 2013 / 9:11 pm

It is a bit of a disaster. And without wishing to hijack your comments, I can’t help moaning about it! I may have lost some writing too, as I am an idiot and my set up only handled photos for automatic back up. All other files were handled manually so I know some will be missing. I have learned my lesson though and the new set up will copy everything automatically to our file server where it will be automatically backed up offsite on a daily basis. Just got to swallow the unexpected expense of a new Mac now.

You’re not following me on Instagram – as my user name is my full real name, I only share it with Facebook friends at present (one of the reasons I don’t use it much). Nothing personal, just a privacy thing, but I do want to change it and will get it sorted once computer issues are dealt with!

    • 14th July 2013 / 9:16 pm

Ah that would make sense! I had a quick search before and couldn’t find you.

That sucks big time!! Macs are not cheap, but so very worth it, so think of it as an investment…? Still a fair old whack out of the pay cheque though. Many hugs coming your way! xx

  5. 14th July 2013 / 7:30 pm

YAY! I’ve done it this week! I apologise it’s not perfect, I realised I didn’t take as many pictures as I thought I do! I enjoyed putting it together though. Next week will be amazing, I promise! haha 🙂
