The Week That Was: Instagrammed #6

Welcome to week 6 of The Week That Was: Instagrammed. Have you had a fabulous week? Thank you to all of you who linked up last week!

I hope you all manage to link up again and that we have some more lovely new bloggers. I love reading everyone’s blogs – new and old – so please do come and say hi and spread the blog love around!

Before we start, you can find the rules here.

This week has been fairly quiet – I’m feeling rather exhausted from running after Busby whilst she crawled everywhere!!!

We had a lovely day on Sunday; we met up with two friends we haven’t seen for yonks and went for a tasty roast dinner in Lewes! We had a wonderful catch up and it was lovely to have lunch out in the sun.

Monday morning was fairly quiet. I did lots of jobs around the house.

Busby had her second induction at Nursery on Monday afternoon… this did not go well at all. I had to leave her and sit in the kitchen for a while, which resulted in a meltdown and inconsolable crying from her… Her final induction is next week and then she starts the following week. It’s not looking great. A phased start was discussed… And this just confirms to me what I already knew; neither of us are ready to leave each other yet.

Tuesday was another quiet day. I woke up with my third ear infection of 2013, so my Mutti came over in the afternoon and took Busby for a walk whilst I had a lie down. She then took me to the doctor, who gave me more antibiotics.

When we got home Busby and I sat in the garden and enjoyed the warm sun on our faces. I had a mini lavender harvest, and inspected our growing vegetables!

A baby-free day! Nick’s parents came and took Busby out for the day, so I headed down to Brighton to gather fabric for my post on Saturday. I spent a good 45 minutes wandering around Fabric Land looking for the perfect material. I then headed to HomeSense as they had kindly sent me a gift voucher to spend. More to follow on that next week.

I bought a chai tea latte for the bus back and spent the afternoon crafting! Bliss!

Following Monday’s Nursery meltdown, I confirmed with my manager on Thursday that I would take an extra three weeks of annual leave at the end of my maternity leave. I’m now not going back to work until the end of September, and I’m feeling much better about this!!

In other news, baby swimming was back on this week and Busby had even more time underwater. Hoorah!

Nick had the day off work as he was working on Saturday instead, so we had a slow get up together as a family. Busby had slept over 12 hours so we were all in good spirits!

Nick took Busby out for a walk whilst I hoovered and cleaned the entire house – ooh it feels good when you can do that without being interrupted.

We then had a very unsuccessful trip into Brighton to find a photo booth for Busby’s passport photo as our home photos weren’t good enough, but this was a nightmare!!

Guess what? It’s only two weeks until my birthday! Boom!

Busby’s top two teeth broke through on Saturday so she was in a great mood, and unfortunately, Nick was working. I found myself with a grumpy, tired baby who refused to sleep for the best part of the day.

Nick’s parents and brother came over in the afternoon for a cup of tea, and I managed to have a sit down and piece of cake without having to chase after a crawling bubba!

Next week is looking busy; wedding dress shopping at the end of the week! Eek!!

What have you been up to this week?

Thanks for sharing your week with us, you’ve got some awesome pics! Enjoy every minute of wedding dress shopping… so exciting!! I haven’t got much to report from my life right now as recovering from surgery, but I plan to join in your hop over the next few weeks!

Oh ear infections suck, I’m prone to nasty ones whenever I get too stressed, hope its cleared up for you.

Another lovely week, well except for the ear infection, tears at nursery and teething, child free time is such a treat.

Yay for taking the annual leave, hopefully it will be just what the two of you need to help you adjust to the changes ahead.

I never thought of a link between ear infections and stress, but that might explain it!!

      Thanks lovely lady πŸ™‚ xx

I can’t believe it’s almost time to start Busby at nursery. I did a phased start with CK when he was 7 months old. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I anticipated either. It’s bound to be hard, but you’ll cope and adjust. xx

I know – where has the time gone??

Indeed – I know we’ll get there eventually πŸ™‚ xx

Thanks so much for hosting! Aw I feel for you with the while nursery thing. We had an absolutely horrendous settling in time at preschool but with time we turned a corner. If my boy can do it (he was one of the most difficult they have had) then believe mean B will in time. Big hugs xxx

      My pleasure my dear πŸ™‚

      Thank you sweetie xxx

Better late then never, I’ve just joined up! You seem to cram so much in to your weeks… I think I need to be on maternity leave again! I’m looking forward to hearing about your wedding dress shopping – I wish I could do it all over again

    • 13th August 2013 / 6:14 pm

Haha – I don’t really think we do *that* much to be honest, compared to some of the mums I know! xx

  7. 12th August 2013 / 7:32 pm

Mmmm I have recently fallen for chai tea yet to try a latte one and as for your crafty bag…I love it so jealous. Also jealous of dress shopping I never tried on enough and although it’s daunting once you’ve popped your cherry you’ll be away.
Home sense opening near me soon too yaye!

    • 13th August 2013 / 6:15 pm

It’s all about the chai tea latte! Scrummy!

      Yay for HomeSense!!! xx
