Make, Do and List // Week Three

I’m a little bit confused as to what day of the week it is… I’ve spent most of this week feeling like this for one reason or another!

Anyway, this week I have been:

The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Wow! What a film! I haven’t read the book yet, but whilst holed up in bed on Thursday afternoon with a poorly tummy I thought I’d try out Amazon Prime on my Kindle, and downloaded this.

It’s such an amazing film that really got me thinking about life. The characters were incredible, especially Charlie who I really identified with (I think Chbosky nailed the f*cked up teenager thing)… and Emma Watson didn’t annoy me too much. I’m definitely adding it to my ever-growing reading list.

Brighton Rock. I’ve been wanting to read this for ages, as a born and bred Brightonian I felt I should, but it’s one of those books that’s been on my list and then I’ve been distracted by something else. (Like a lot of classics.) I’m half way through, and it’s… alright. It reminds me of an early Peter James novel, but without the drama. Nick said something that really resonated with me the other day about classic books: “A classic is a book that everyone wants to have read, but that no-one wants to read.”

Nick! I missed him so much while he was away on his Stag Do. I really enjoyed solo parenting for the weekend, but it’s nice to have him around… because, you know, he’s alright. I’m really looking forward to our Date Night tonight – we haven’t had one in a really long while!

I seem to have developed a compulsion for buying Busby awesome leggings for Autumn… and then wishing that the weather would change so she could wear them now!

I’m loving The Little Geekery Company (obviously) and KyNa Boutique especially for luscious little leggings.

At (and with) Busby! She’s really in such a gorgeous mood at the moment (well, most of the time) and an absolute pleasure to be around.

I was deleting photos off my overloaded iPhone yesterday, and I can’t believe how much she’s grown in only a few months. She never fails to astound me!

I think Nick’s nailed it about classic novels – there are so many that I feel I ought to have read, but I’m just not that desperate to read. Although there are some that are classics for a reason and I love them utterly so perhaps I should kick myself out of my comfort zone! And the leggings are gorgeous – roll on autumn!

I think may be right about the classics as well. Brighton rock however is great. On my blog ( you can check out the 100 book list challenge I set myself. I decided there were so many classic books I had never read I would create a list of books to read. I used the top 100 book lists in the Guardian and the Times, then got recommendations from friends to compile my list. I have been going at it for 5.5 years so far!!

The reason you didn’t know what day of the week it was is because it’s the start of the summer holidays – it doesn’t matter if you’ve got kids in school or not, for some reason the days just blend as soon as the hols hit. I sware that’s it 😉 Lovely list and I’m glad you’re doing lots of kissing!

I can’t believe you’re already getting ready for autumn…I still haven’t got summer down! Those are goooooorgeous leggings though 🙂 xxxx

Thanks for linking up to #MumsList xxxx
